Monday Seaside Cottage

Clean and different from modern characterless places. Proximity to the beach. Nice back garden.

Description was misleading as there weren't 2 separate bedrooms. Just a space off the double bed bit of the bedroom separated by a room divider. One of us snores.... one of us had to then make up the sofa bed in the lounge part by dismantling bedding from the single bed. Sofa bed was hard. Double bed was ok. Shelves in the bathroom are needed. I didn't see the information from the owners that the windows could be opened until glancing through the visitors book just before we checked out. It was okay for one night. It would be cold in winter.

Lovely little cottage. Yes it is small but is quirky, and having read the reviews, no surprises. Would happily stay again.

The house is cluttered and very small. The shower floor is slippery and very small. The toilet is very hard to use. The gardens were unkempt. The washing line is inaccessible due to overgrown gardens.

Wonderfully quirky house, just a few minutes walk to the Castlecliff beach. Comfortable bed, very serviceable kitchen, great nostalgic decor. Lots of DVD's to watch for free. Washing machine is very convenient. Lovely fake fireplace heater. Craig was a very, very helpful host.

The TV is in the bedroom, and while having all sorts of DVD's to play, it was a bit inconvenient location; not a problem, just a comment. The toilet is cramped...if you're very tall, it might be uncomfortable to sit down. (It's a strange design given that if the toilet was placed differently, there would be plenty of room.)

The worst accommodation I have had in New Zealand. Nothing like what is advertised. Not 2 bedrooms. Just a mobile partician separating the room. Not wheelchair friendly. There is no space to sit on toilet seat properly. Most of the windows are nailed shut. Could not get fresh air into bedroom. The outside area was so untidy and full of cobwebs. Could not even sit there. Very disappointing. Would never recommend to anyone.

The cottage was cute, clean and welcoming, and in a great location, with the beach, playground and cafe all short walks away. The kitchen was a good size and well equipped, the shower had great pressure, the beds were comfortable, and the wee courtyard at the back was pleasant and private.

The parking was tight, as was the space in front of the toilet. The shower head might be a little low for taller people.

We loved everything about our stay at Monday Seaside Cottage, the bed was comfy, the place was very spacious for the 2 of us, had everything we needed in the kitchen AND the shower was AMAZING!! We will definitely be booking again, but next time we’ll bring the kids, as there is the coolest park across the road and the beach!! Thanks for having us :)
