"A nice characterful cottage in a lovely village"

8.0

A nice cottage in the village of Tideswell. A great location from which to explore the Peak District

Although the cottage has a nice and well appointed bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen, the sitting room sofas are the most comfortable. Also, the playing field behind the cottage can be quite noisy with after school activities. However, these are just points of note and did not detract from an enjoyable stay.

"Good value for money but a few things need doing to make it excellent."

8.0

Good location. Parking was good. Great bathroom and shower but loose hot-cold tap made it difficulty to get an optimum temperature. Hosts were happy to rectify faults but they were intermittent.

Settees a bit uncomfortable. TV signal kept breaking up but good to have guest Netflix to compensate.

"Perfect house for a walking weekend"

9.0

The house is quiet and very well located on a small lane above the church, but right in the middle of the village. It's cosy with an excellent shower and the beds are very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean. Communication with the people who look after the house was excellent before and during the rental. Steve and Nick answer the phone immediately and Nick even came round within about 20 mins when we were having difficulty with the broadband.

The house feels a little impersonal - not many pictures on the walls - and the heating was on very low when we got there. The provision of kitchen equipment is rather patchy and slim (ie only one sharp small knife and no potato peeler) but what is there is in good condition and useful.

Lovely location

To make it clear that there is no fuel starter pack when the information states there is a fire as it was initially quite cold on the first night

Great location for walking, eating and drinking. Spotlessly clean and lovely enclosed garden. Thank you for the milk and tea bags but especially for the wine!

"Really lovely cottage in the Cathedral of the Peaks"

9.0

It is a lovely cottage The kitchen had everything we needed with a good sized lounge that seated four They were positive about dogs being there The shower room was really nice and modern The bedrooms were also excellent with the option of twin or double bed set ups We had a really wonderful stay and the owner was really helpful and even provided a bottle of wine on arrival Lots of great local pubs to eat at as well I would recommend this cottage highly

My only personal comment is that the mattress was hard but this seems almost universal these days in hotels and cottages and many people prefer a harder mattress This was easily sorted with a mattress topper to suit my taste
