Romantic Getaway Luxury Wooden Cabin With Private Hot Tub and BBQ

the hot tub was luke warm and very small - also the hot tub pump was very noisy and could hear it all night from inside the cabin. The cabin was very small, bit of a stretch to call it a luxury log cabin. Is more of a fitted out shed. BArbeque grill pretty grubby too. No sink in kitchen area for washing up. Sink available in bathroom. Internal space quite cramped, only one seat inside. Quite hard to get past the bed without banging your head on the TV.

When calling the host, we were told that we had been upgraded, which was a lovely surprise as I had booked the night for my boyfriends birthday.

I will start by saying the owner refunded us for the one night out of two that we didn't stay - as we had left the property at 2am - he wouldn't refund.for the 8 hours we'd been in his property.

We arrived to find that it was a completely different cabin to what we had booked. It was old and shabby. The Hot tub had a ripped cover, when opened it was filthy with cloudy water and leaves and insects inside. Also, it didn't work! The entire outside area was filthy. There was a dirty old birds nest directly above the front door. Inside the property, there was a spiders nest. Dead spiders and insects everywhere. Webs and dead spiders in the food prep area. Mold/damp spots on the other beds (as I said, they gave us a cabin that doesn't seem to exist and it had kids beds in it. My kids would never have slept there) There were also spots of damp on the inside door blinds. There were holes in our bedding, an old sock full of cobwebs behind the tv and in general the place was dirty. There were gaps in the cabin walls which meant that, as we slept, the bed got more and more damp. When we woke at 1am there was a woodlouse on the bed. They were through the property as well and there were other small insects grouped in the corners of some of the property. Every time I touched the bedside table the light went out! We left and I messaged all day with absolutely no response. In the end I phoned them the following day to be told that I wouldn't be getting a refund and that the hot tub wasn't plugged in - it most definitely was - but it obviously hadn't been checked before we arrived and neither had anything else. This was for our wedding anniversary and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. We have stayed in cabins before, we're not precious about a few insects and spiders but filth is not something we should be paying for!

The location was close to Aberystwyth.

We were clearly not in the accommodation we booked. I have the photos on the booking form. The hot tub did not work, and the hosts really didn't care. As this was a major reason for booking this accommodation, it was a great disappointment. After several phone calls, nothing changed except the hosts trying to work out where they had put us. I felt the hosts were in it for the money and not the customer experience a simple apology or even coming to see if there was anything they could do to make our stay easier would have been something. I would not recommend this accommodation at all.

The cabin itself was really nice. Bed was comfy and the heating was working really good as it was cold and raining outside.

I certainly NOT reccomand this place!! Rude people and very high value for money for something I didn't even get! I have booked this place mainly because of the hot tub and i didn't get to use it cause no one could tell me how to make it work or help me. no instruction whatsoever. I kind of worked it out on my own how to switch it on but it wouldn't heat up. It stayed around 17/18 degrees the whole time. I had switched it on several times and nothing would change. We have called the given number and a lady (quite rude on the phone) sent a mainentence guy who said had no idea how to make it work. It just said to keep trying (but at least he was polite). It was also difficult to reach the location and their instructions weren't very clear. Although doable. There was also no internet even so it said so on the website (not needed on this kind of trip, but still..) In top of that the place was not te same as the pictures, had no mountain view nor internet as stated and it was quite dirty. Also the shower was a bit of drama as was going to really hot to really cold and no in between.

Surprised to find only 1 glass, 2 mugs, 3 plates, 0 bowls and 0 sharp knives. The outside area was tired and the outside light didn't work. Washing up facilities were poor - to fill and empty a bowl it was necessary to struggle through the, perhaps, 20cm space at the end of the bed to get to the bathroom.

Reason of booking this stay was because of the hot tub. It was cold and the dials didn’t work so it was stone cold and contacted staff they said there’s no problem with it without looking at it , also no television as it was stuck on a one channel. Contacted staff for controls and they brought Netflix controls which would clearly not work, so was meant to be a relaxing stay turned to be quite disappointed in the end. Lastly door blinds were very Dirty when pulled down, bbq could use with a good clean also.
