Everything was perfect - Martin's welcome, his enthusiastic reception of our two small dogs, his guide round his delightful posada, and then the lightning change into his chef's uniform to serve us up the most delicious supper - and then breakfast the following morning. Having just completed a long drive from Bordeaux, we left the following morning totally refreshed and rested.

No complaints at all.

This posada is a gem in a quiet village close to Salamanca. The host Martin cooked us a wonderful dinner and breakfast and couldn’t have been kinder to us. The rooms are beautiful

Our host Martin was an excellent host, his attention to detail was five star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 plus so welcoming & helpful. Exceptional dinner by chef Martin, followed by great breakfast, nothing was any trouble. Spotless clean & very comfortable bed, lovely relaxation room ( very chilled) Highly Recommend, a hidden gem only short distance outside Salamanca & certainly worth the short journey , parking easy. Superb all round. Castellanos de Villiquera is a quirky little town, and in the midst of it is this gem hosted by Martin. Everything on offer was first class, and the Christmas dinner he prepared was worthy of a top restaurant. A wonderful way for my wife, and our dog, to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. If you ever get the chance, book a stay.

There was nothing to dislike

This is a lovely old country house close enough to Salamanca for an easy visit. It's in a very quiet farming village with incredibly beautiful murals on the town walls. Martin is one of the most charming hosts we've in Spain, full of fun and warmth, and a very good cook. He went out of his way to augment the meager bread and cheese provisions that we'd brought on a night when we were not dining with him, setting a service that was elegant and artistic.

The immediate countryside is somewhat drab, and there is no place to hang out besides the posada.

This is a gem of a place . Tiny village and an oasis of hospitality . Beautiful building and decor . A host who couldn’t do enough for us . Thank you Marttin

It is off the beaten track - perfect for us for a 1 night stop . The food that Marttin prepares is delicious but simple fare presented with expertise but we thought expensive - but you are paying for the experience and care .
