The Wrea Head Hall Country House Hotel & Restaurant

We have just returned from another wonderful one night stay (one night is never enough) This time we brought our friends with us. As always the hotel is just wonderful, the Christmas tree was just wow, gorgeous. The rooms were very comfy and absolutely spotless. The food as usual was incredible what a wonderful team you have. We have been visiting Wrea Head now for 13 years and it never disappoints. We had a wonder round the lovely wall garden after our perfectly cooked breakfast. Can't wait to see the new refurbished rooms. Must make a special mention about Josh what an absolutely wonderful young man he is, he is a true asset to Wrea Head we will see you again next year

Enjoyed a 2 day break in a first floor room. The staff assisted with carrying luggage to our room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a roll top bath and a separate shower. The room had ample drawer, and hanging space. The cleanliness throughout was impressive. The public rooms were cosy and staff on hand. In fact the staff ( mostly young) were helpful and welcoming, greeting you wherever you encountered them in the hotel. The food was an especial treat. The choice of food was wide and well presented. Both the venison and the partridge dishes are recommended.

Lovely, historical building but with a contemporary bar/lounge area that suited the style exactly. Real fires added a cosy ambience & the rooms were very warm on a couple of cold November days. The package included dinner, which was very good. Slight disappointment in the lack of vegetarian options & some of the dishes were too salty for our tastes. Breakfast was excellent & generous. The staff were all very friendly. Would definitely recommend and will book again.

The building and location

We booked 6 rooms for a celebration for a family of 11 people. Every one of us was knocked out by the quality of service , friendliness of the staff and the arrangements for our group. The food is simply superb . A 3 course meal for 11 and not one person had anything other than compliments for their menu choices. Similarly the service and quality & choice of food at breakfast was excellent. Added to the location of the building & its interior , this all made for a truly memorable experience . Thank you so much , Wrea Head , I’m sure we’ll be back .

Excellent stay. The staff deserve many plaudits, obviously well trained and motivated. Dining was exceptt.

Lived over the road from the hotel for over 20 years but we have never been in this hidden gem. Beautiful fresh sandwiches lovely scones and lovely fresh cakes. We had to bring a bag home there was so much. Highly recommend . If you Want a lovely fresh afternoon tea in lovely surroundings with plenty of afternoon tea look no further. .
