"Perfect stay in an ideal location."

10.0

Hosts were lovely. Everything had been thought of to make our stay perfect. The room booked had a balcony with good views to the South Downs. It was a nice room with an extra large bed. It was serviced and equipped with fresh towels and refreshments every day. The breakfast choices were varied, beautifully cooked and presented and more than ample. Nothing was too much trouble for Sally and Douglas. Would certainly stay again and would definitely recommend.

Nothing.

"Excellent, will definitely stay again, if they'll have me!😁"

10.0

The breakfast was excellent and executed to perfection every day, even when very busy. Sally was a wonderful host, nothing was too much. All the staff ( including housekeepers) were very kind and understanding when I became ill. Grouns are beautiful and the view from my room was phenomenal. Very quiet. A very healthy ecology, during the lots of birds including swallow and bird of prey swooping away looking for field mice from the surrounding farm land. During the evening you can here your neighbours ( sheep or cows), but not at a level to be disturbed. Bats were swooping around, catching moths etc, foxes, deer.......binoculars would have been a good thing g to bring, and a camera, phone cameras don't do justice to the beauty of the place.

"Atmospheric, beautiful 16th century house near Herstmonceux, with a warm welcome from hosts"

10.0

Beautiful16th Century house in the heart of 1066 country, with peaceful views across the fields, reached via a rural no-through road, which means a very peaceful location, with a public footpath nearby that goes across the Pevensey marshes in one direction, and to Herstmonceux Castle and Herstmonceux Observatory in the other. A warm greeting and plenty of local information (books, maps, suggested walks) in the sitting areas, and very quaint bedroom. A really great breakfast and plenty of parking space.

"Idyllic escape to the country"

10.0

Breakfast was delicious - plenty of choice. Views over the South Downs were stunning. Beautiful period decor but with the mod cons as well

Although a stunning location, it is remote and the roads are narrow. It is very important to ignore the SatNav and stick to the wider road. Sally kindly warned us about this beforehand.
