The Thorold

Lovely welcome, really helpful owner and staff. Clean and tidy room with a really good shower, bed had firm mattress, just the way I like. Ate at the Thorold great choice on the menu !! Highly recommend

There was some music you could hear in the room until 10:30pm !! Wasn’t too loud but it is a pub so it is probably expected, but didn’t spoil the stay one bit

The heart of the local community. We were embraced with friendship, and care taken to our every need. Beautiful accommodation and a restful nights sleep. Exceptional breakfast with outstanding Lincolnshire sausages. Restaurant was top notch and bar had some fine English ales. Shop on site allowed us to get some fantastic local pastries and honeycomb. Second stay here as it is just so lovely.

I can’t offer an critique because it was just fabulous

We received a great welcome. We read up about the community shop and taking over the pub from a developer which really impressed us. The pub was quiet on arrival, we were served a drink then taken to the room. Unfortunately the pint of landlords my uncle was served was warm. We laughed because it was really chilly during our stay and it snowed the next day so we passed it off as warming for him. The bedroom decor is lovely, modern and expensive looking. The room was clean and fresh… the bathroom was clean too but we had an issue. The pub was really busy on our return and noise was no issue in the room.

The bathroom drains were very smelly. It was quite overpowering as soon as you opened the bathroom door. I ran the shower in case it had just not been used for a while but it didn’t help. Closing the shower door definitely helped though. The bed was firm but that’s just a personal choice. The pillows were all neck breakingly firm…We didn’t sleep well sadly. A mix of soft and hard would easily solve that. We were given an emergency contact number to ring in case we were locked out late on or had issue with the back door code… this unnerved us a little, were we alone in the pub we wondered 😳

The ladies who welcomed us were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was also very good.

The member of staff that looked after us was great. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The room had a large comfortable bed in a nicely decorated room. The shower was spacious and had plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. The breakfast had quality, local ingredients, was generous and well cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

We only had one suggestion for the property and that was that they consider installing a usb plug socket to charge phones.

Friendly welcome, warm and comfortable room and exceptional evening meal. Excellent location for purpose of visit. Would happily recommend and stay again.

Superb meals, staff are very good

Bedroom was chilly,radiator needed bleeding. Outside light was left turned on overnight illuminating Bedroom.
