The Thorold

Beautiful bedroom with a great shower, crisp bed linen and comfortable mattress, quality hospitality tray and toiletries. We had a good, quiet nights sleep after a meal in the bar served by friendly, helpful staff. A lot of thought has gone into this place and it shows. We definitely recommend it.

An excellent room. Clean, spacious and light. The staff were excellent, as was the food. I can recommend the Thorold highly enough.

We arrived in time for happy hour 5.30 - 6.30 pm, and the pub was starting to buzz. The meals we had in the restaurant were delicious. The tapas selection also looked good. Not disturbed when we went to sleep.

Very minor but we couldn't get the heating to work as it was a tad cold in bedroom and bathroom.

The Thorold Arms exceeded our expectations. We spent two nights here and ate all our meals here. The proper English breakfast was excellent. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect, and it was.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Excellent stopover when travelling north or south. Great community pub and b&b. Highly recommended.

No food - not even breakfast. Understood that this was pointed out when booking regarding dinner but no breakfast was a bit of a blow.

The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and so were the locals, the room was comfortable and quite. While the location was peaceful and we had a nice walk around the village. This is how all pubs should be.
