Location was ideal. Across from the train station and easy walking distance to the town centre.

Very homely, clean and excellent host in Robertson

Bed was comfortable and room Facilities were more than adequate breakfast was perfect

Room temp could habeen warmer heating didn't come on until 7am additional bedding was used but still felt cold during night

The owner is very knowledgeable about the local area, the breakfast was good, good location with the train station just across the road and you can walk into town from the location. Plenty of car parking, and the accommodation accepted dogs.

the time line for breakfast was between 8-9 and that for a Sunday is bit early you want a lazy start, I didn't get that feeling. The bed was awful, the shower took a while for hot Water to come through and the noise from the shower unit was impossible to ignore.

It's so often that people make the place. This is certainly so with The Ferintosh - Robertson is a great host and an excellent cook, as my two breakfasts proved. The location is superb - literally a stones throw from the station.

The breakfast was exceptional. Robertson is a world class chef. We had the best breakfast of our entire journey at Fernitosh. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Robertson and his wife are wonderful host and made us feel like family. Both are well informed about the Dumfries Area .We will definitely highly recommend Fernitosh to our friends and family. Added plus is that is just a block from train station.

Everything. Great Breakfast, exceptional host. Everything was just perfect.

There wasn't anything to dislike

Robertson was a very efficient and pleasant host and he was keen and successful in making sure we were welcome and satisfied. His cooked breafasts were excellent. The breakfast room was very neat and tidy and clean - as was our bedroom. The location was very good and we were not disadvantaged by the lack of private parking, there was plenty of nearby street parking and Robertson had provided a free parking permit.

The ensuite bathroom was functional and practical; but it was seriously in need of a refurbishment and modernisation. It was not in keeping with a B&B with a full price of £100/night. (Perhaps Ferintosh standard and price was in keeping with others in Dumphries, but we have not experienced any of the others.)
