The Hero

Having previously only visited for The Hero’s fabulous Sunday lunches we decided to book a stay of two nights. We had the most wonderful time and were treated so well by the brilliant staff. Our room was lovely and we were in the right place for some great walks. We will definitely be back!

Breakfast was excellent. Good quality ingredients and good choice. Good location. Bus stop outside if required and Good walk locally. Room was small but well furnished, equipped and clean.

It’s just so welcoming . Great food.. lovely walks. And so so important as I have 4 dogs… Super Dog Friendly..!

The room was comfy and cosy and very clean, the food was really good but smaller option needed

We had 2 rooms over a 2 day stay due to it being booked last minute and christmas. This was the 2nd room it was quite small. the bathroom radiator was boiling hot right next to the toilet, making it quite dangerous for an older person or child, needs a cover over it,

Spacious room, very clean, visitors should be warned there is no street lighting at night! food is very good but needs a smaller option too! Too much for me to eat

There is no street lighting at night, but that's not down to the accommodation, but should be advertised,

The friendly relaxed vibe. The location. The wood burning stove in the bar area. The delicious food.

Room was slightly on the small side. Bedside tables a bit chipped. Carpet could do with replacing.

Everything the staff very friendly; food was very good.
