Please let us know if you are coming to Lamu by bus (which Bus Company & departure time from Mombasa or Malindi) or by plane (which airline & arrival time) so that we can wait for you at the jetty in Mokowe or Lamu or at Manda Airport. Guests only have to pay boat fare for themselves and if they need help with their luggage otherwise we don't charge anything for pick up.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Super Lage mitten im alten Teil von Lamu, sehr freundlicher Inhaber, der jederzeit und bereitwillig Informationen und Tipps weitergibt, man kann über das Guesthouse auch gute Touren buchen, gutes Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse, wo man schnell mit anderen Reisende ins Gespräch kommt, gutes WLAN, das Zimmer ist einfach aber zweckmässig eingerichtet und bietet genügend Platz

Für mich war der Aufenthalt super

Arnol el anfitrión una excelente persona, atento nos explicó todo al detalle y aconsejó súper bien, los desayunos muy ricos . Recomiendo mucho el alojamiento.

Las habitaciones eran amplias y cómodas. El desayuno muy rico y completo. Tiene opción de recogida en el aeropuerto. La acogida de Arnold al llegar al hotel es de 10. Te da un mapa y te explica todos los sitios. Además te ofrece muchas actividades para realizar entre Lamu y Shela. Volvería a alojarme aquí.

Como pega, no hay agua caliente en la ducha.

Arnold est un hôte super accueillant qui est au petit soin de ses convives. Ils proposent plein d'activités et de très bons conseils de restaurants. Son auberge est un beau lieu de rencontre avec petit déjeuner sur rooftop. Excellent rapport qualité-prix.

"An unusual guest house in the middle of a very unusual town"

If you want to stay in the middle of Lamu, Jambo House is your best option. The owner, Arnold, provides guests with large amounts of reliable, detailed information about Lamu and the surrounding areas. If the rooms are small, the terrace upstairs gives you room to spread out, work, read or drink tea or coffee.

Jambo House was perfect for me. It's best suited to backpackers or former backpackers in their 30s, 40s or 50s who are interested in this unusual place and its distinctive culture. If you''re looking for luxuries, you won't be happy. And you may not like being woken up at 4:50m by the call to prayer at a nearby mosque--but this is part of being in the middle of Lamu.

"Great host! Pick this place if you want to have a more Swahili and local stay"

Arnold the host is the best! They provide everything you need to make your stay in Lamu great! The breakfast is delicious with vegan options. Although the host is German, he knows everything and everyone, so I highly recommend this place if you want to spend your time with the locals (Shella, the other town with more hotels and restaurants is beautiful but basically made for European tourists)

No hot shower, but actually you don’t need it there
