The Old Forge B&B

Lovely. 3 bedrooms in the house but still feels very separate. Shared kitchen with breakfast laid out in the morning. Perfect.

Bien situé, tout est accessible facilement à pied (ça monte un peu). Petit déjeuner continental (pain, choco, confiture, beurre de cacahuète, céréales, jus de fruits, ...). Le Muesli maison est excellent. La vue sur la mer et la possibilité de déjeuner dehors.

No advise for early check in . The ferry gets in four hours before checking time with no real place to go

A place too far from any accomodation (food, restaurant, services): 25 minutes walking one way.

We had a few problems there. First, we booked a room in the Old Forge but we were installed in a building called "Pourquoi pas". We were not asked if we agreed this change and, by the fact, we wanted to sleep in an old building, the pourquoi pas is very modern (and confortable I must say). At the Pourquoi Pas it's a self catering service, you have to make your own breakfast. I'm pretty sure that there is a difference in prices between the 2 rooms. I had to ask explanations and I didn't have any good ones. This lack of informations - and agreement - is really a problem. Second point: our luggage was supposed to be delivered directly at the harbour. For that, we left those luggage in front of the door advising the manager that they were there, who promised they would be taken there. It was 9.30 AM, our boat was leaving at 4.30 PM. When arriving at the harbour, our luggage were not there. I had to ask an employee who, after some phone calls, advised us that the suitcases were already in Guernsey ! We were quite anxious but we' found them back at the "Left Luggage" service (an open room where anybody can take what he wants).

lovely house, huge bedroom and bathroom very nice and roomy. Help yourself breakfast worked very well and fresh bread was delicious. Lovely chocolate shop next door, great for afternoon tea and cake. Very friendly hosts.

The food available for breakfast was superb, and intolerances or allergies were catered for. There was a selection of cereals, yogurts, fruits, breads, and tea and coffee making facilities. The owner even made me special bread for my wheat intolerance.

Nothing at all, it is the best place we have ever stayed in. It is near to the amazing La Coupee, there is a swimming pool and the owner has an inhouse home made chocolate making shop attached! Well what more could one ask for?
