The Steading at Barmore

This is one of the loveliest places we have stayed at. The welcome was so warm and the cottage is breathtaking. It has every comfort you could want, is spotlessly clean and was accessible for me with limited mobility. Everything is on one level. The bed is SO comfy. Our wee dog Skye was welcomed. The milk in the fridge which meant a cup of tea on arrival was very welcome and the smoked trout an unexpected treat. Thank you so much for making our short break so enjoyable.

The property was pretty inside and out; all very relaxing and in a lovely part of Scotland. We were really impressed with the facilities made available and the attention to detail.

Property was very comfortable , well equipped and very spacious . We arrived to some lovely local smoked trout which were delicious ! Loved that we were able to bring our dog and that he had his own wee welcome pack !

There was nothing we didn't like !

great facilities for dog owners as a long dog walk area mowed in a nearby field for late night and early morning walks. Very convenient situation for visiting Kintyre and close to Tarbert for food and attractions.

As elderly and infirm we could not use the beautiful shower as no handles for support

Beautiful location with lots of space for the three of us and our dog. Liz was really helpful, suggesting good places to go while we were there.

Decor was slightly dated, but still very comfortable.

Dairymaids cottage was situated in a perfect location. Easy access to Kintyre and the islands and surrounding areas. The accommodation was clean and really comfortable especially the super king sized bed. The en-suite bathroom was lovely and modern with a bath and separate shower. Our dog really settled in the cottage and enjoyed playing in the huge front garden. There was a walk at the back of the house as well. Plenty parking on the premises. The owners Liz and Graeme were very welcoming and really friendly without imposing. Graeme was a fountain of knowledge regarding the area and gave us lots of tips of where to visit. We had a great time and we will definitely go back.

I couldn’t fault the cottage

Lovely accommodation in a lovely location with lovely hosts.

We really liked the setting of the location & the buildings and land. If you’re taking a dog with you, it has a fantastic field and if you’re lucky, you get to see deer. The hosts, Liz & Graeme, we’re exceptional and so warm & friendly and gave good tips on where to go to eat, visit etc. They were also very kind to provide milk, smoked trout (that my son polished off straightaway) and a bottle of bubbly as it was my birthday. Very kind and thoughtful.

Not a lot really- it just needs updating and a separate or installed power shower. If we’re being super picky- you have to drive or taxi into Tarbert.
