Very querkie , a lovely old house

All was good

An amazing characterful 17th century building in the middle of a quiet residential housing development with plenty of parking. Old beams, very creaky floors and doors - all very atmospheric! A good shower room and a very clean huge comfy bed. Self-service brekkie included a good choice of cold options. As we were told on arrival, it's a 'work in progress' to restore the wonderful old building. It could be really fabulous but sadly it's definitely not there yet ...

We were shown to our top floor room and were asked whether we minded pigeons! I assumed that this was because they settled on the roof... but they were actually under the eaves, inside the roof space, behind the plasterboard next to the bed! About a dozen of them, I guess. And they cooed and scrabbled from dawn onwards! No sleep from then on. Also the room could really do with a very thorough deep clean: the carpet was very dirty, the armchairs were stained and the leaded windows needed a wash. The bed was perfect - such a pity that the cleaning regime didn't cover the rest of the room.

Love the building restaurant was really good too

Pillows was really hard and so was the beds. Found lube in draw so not been cleaned very well

Spacious room. Country style despite being in suburbia. Attached restaurant. Friendly staff.

Curtains need fixing.

I liked the room and breakfast facilities. The location is very good and parking is excellent.

I did not like the squeaks coming from the floors and rooms above. It woke me up when I wanted to lie in.

We would have loved to have stayed at Langley Inn, but unfortunately after a very long journey we arrived to find that we did not have a booking there. As they were fully booked we had to find a different hotel, which was difficult as most were filled because of the Badminton Horse Trials.

Apparently we were not booked in via yourselves, even though I had had full confirmation of the booking.

Lovely breakfast

Room was very 'tired' and didnt seem very clean...stuff under bed and carpets bit grim and very old sofa...but room was nice size and bathroom ok.
