Gardeners Cottage B and B

Very cosy place, close to the town centre, max 15mins walk or 3mins with car. The room was nice and comfortable. The pillows were especially great and the bedding was new. The bathroom is quite new too. The breakfast was really great and lots of choices. Ivan and his dad were both very nice and made us feel welcomed.

We would have been happier if we knew that they will make our bed (moving our stuff around) and will fold our towels during daytime when we were out. We would have done ourselves or asked not to. Very small things, but they could put a bit more effort to make the place tidier, cobwebs, spotty windows, touch-up paint spots in the bathroom, spotlights slightly out of the ceiling.

Pre ordering breakfast which was fine however a time of 8.30 was requested but waited 40 minutes for 4 x cooked breakfasts. The slipper policy was a little strange and made us feel uncomfortable never experianced this in any hotel or previous bed and breakfast. Some guests came down to breakfast in barefeet.

Beautiful cottage, nice rooms, lovely host, and in walking distance to the centre of Bakewell - nothing to complain about!!

Location is good with nice views, decent sized room. Breakfast very good.

TV needs replacing, towels thin, bathroom floor tiles missing grout and dusty in some areas! Don't forget your slippers

Lovely property in a great location a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Bakewell. Very clean and good facilities in the room. Ensuite was very well maintained. Ivan was a great source of local information and recommendations. He can also knock up a great breakfast!

I had the best time at Gardeners Cottage, it's a lovely & quiet place, perfect for relaxing! The breakfast is outstanding, would definitely recommend and would love to visit again 😀

Location and breakfast

Pillows more like empty pillow cases. TV was smaller than a laptop screen. Bath towels far too small. Parking only for 3 cars.

Location was nice and surroundings looked lovely.

Restrictions in place regarding where you could and couldn't go made it feel like you were in a prison and were constantly being watched by the owner. Reviews of breakfasts from previous guests made it sound exceptional but we found it to be an ok breakfast nothing more, and for the total price of the stay made it seems like you were paying a premium for it.
