Adley House

Wij werden naar een andere locatie gebracht, omdat het was overboekt. Wij hadden 9 maanden geleden al geboekt. Deze locatie had geen mooie tuin maar een grauwe parkeerplaats. Kwam totaal niet overéén met wat wij hadden geboekt. Waarschijnlijk gebeurt dit heel vaker bij Adley house. Slechtste accomodatie van 4 weken vakantie.

Location was good - close to the centre of town. The gardens were well maintained and the breakfast was good.

The room lacked many basics. No towels - threadbare, stained towel was later provided. No hot water - apparently the boiler had been switched off! No hairdryer, no tea bags - clothes from a previous occupant left in cupboard. The room had obviously not been properly cleaned and certainly not checked by a supervisor prior to occupancy. When we complained to the receptionist, she became confrontational, reminding me that she'd given me her number and I should have contacted her at all hours to remedy the situation! No apologies from her. However, the kitchen staff were very apologetic.

The building and the garden were beautiful. Chicken livers at breakfast were good. Eggs were OK. Beds were comfy.

Breakfast was disappointing. Two measly pieces of bacon. Bread was awful. Sausage was not very nice. The TV did not work. We were told it was going to be fixed but that never happened. They could have made more of the lounge in the main house e.g. lit a fire, had some nice music and a host present to make it more hospitable.

Great stay 2nd time around and will return - lights could be improved in room

Unlike many comments before, we didn’t have any problem checking in or out. However, the place needs some refurbishing and some better cleaning. We found small stains on our sheets and they smelled strangely. Also, no sound isolation at all, therefore I couldn’t sleep until the neighbours turned off the tv. Finally, my partner took a shower in the morning and couldn’t have hot water, not sure if because the system is old or because he was one of the firsts to have one that day. Adley House is okay for one night, but I wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay.
