Beautiful property, comfortable rooms. Staff went out of their way to assist with all our requests.

Location was good. Britney at reception secured alternative accommodation after my reservation was overwritten in an administrative error.

Reservation (obligation) should have been honoured.

The breakfast was excellent both days we were there, and served in the room. The room we were given was an outside one, but pleasant. The house itself looks lovely and the front garden is beautiful.

The place has an air of benign neglect - it is not bad now, but it seems like it was much better before. The dining room had been painted and all the furniture was stacked on the porch which is why the breakfast was served in the room. There was a problem with the main gate, which made us anxious about getting in when returning late from the party we were there to attend. That can't be helped - probably - but what annoyed me was there was no white sugar at all in the room tea/coffee supply. It's a small thing, but I cannot abide brown sugar in tea. The manageress made a show of looking for some, but did not find any and left it at that. There's a lovely braai area and pool, but both look neglected and unused.

Breakfast was ok

There were no Electric Blankets on the beds as it was advertised. The Air conditioner was not working properly, and as a result we were extremely cold for most of the night.

Leaving the next morning

Communication is non-existent on arrival. You are given your key without being told times for breakfast or book-out time. We found out 9pm that the remote car gate was not working. It was held closed with a wire. This should have been communicated to us on arrival. The room sliding door would not lock, after calling a staff member and her banging the door, she managed to lock it. The ceilings have water marks. This place urgently needs maintenance. The one electrical blanket does not work. The 4 Stars displayed at the gate is misleading and not representative of the facility. Guests next door was noisy (laughing and yelling) until 2am. On departure no staff member around to receive key, left it on reception desk.

I liked the room.

The bath water was brown and the shower was leeking on top of the shower head.

The breakfast was excellent too. I was well taken care of in every respect. Thank you.

The house was just lovely; well maintained with a beautiful garden, and nice touches everywhere in the house. The deluxe room was really spacious, and the standard room was wonderful too. The rooms had flowers and lights that worked during load shedding. Breakfast was really good with a wide variety, also typical South African dishes. The staff was very friendly too.

We wouldn’t have minded if there had been no rugs on the floor
