The Whitehouse

I like the ancient decor of the rooms. The bed was super confortable. The yogurt and muesli was very nice too. The little area is quiet and safe. The garden is so cute and Bella the cat is very endearing.

Nicola is a wonderful host and everything is so thoughtful. We enjoyed her nice breakfast with her self made jam.

Good breakfast, lovely, interesting host and beautiful old part of Barrydale! Great pool and good shower. Comfortable bed - altogether fun and thanks for the delicious dinner booking at great restaurant. Meg's Kitchen

Nothing, loved it - the final stop on our journey!

Nicola made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. She left delicious fresh products in our rooms: muesli, fruit, eggs, fresh bread and rusks, good coffee and tea. She was ever so thoughtful and had already made dinner reservations for the 2 evenings we were in town (when most restaurants were closed). She even did our wash and we were so grateful for that. She advised us to go to an excellent local vineyard. Nicola was genuinely interested in us but gave us our privacy. The two rooms were very comfortable and clean. We loved our stay with Nicola at the Whitehouse. An added bonus: Bella the cat.

We would have liked to have stayed longer!

My wife and I stayed at The White House as a convenient stop off between the Garden Route and Cape Town. We were only there one night but absolutely loved The White House and Barrydale in general. Nicola is an exceptional host and gave us some great local tips and history. She kindly booked us into the local restaurant Mez Karoo Kitchen for dinner and we had one of the best meals of our 6 week S.A. trip. Our stay in Barrydale is a real highlight of our travels in South Africa and I can't recommend The White House highly enough. If you are traveling along the Garden Route to CT, make a detour, stay here and have dinner at Mez, you can thank me later.

Can't really think of anything, it was a very hot day / night when we stayed over but the room has very thick walls and a good breeze to keep it cool.

It was in a quiet location. Nicola was so friendly and welcoming and breakfast was nice. Great yoghurt and home made jam. Was recommended to go to Mez Karoo Kitchen for dinner and it was fantastic! So a great overnight stay all round.

Nothing not to like.
