Steeped in history, host very hospitable & informative. Quite an unusual opportunity to stay in such a historical place. Food was excellent.

Sadly lacking a bar & lounge area. Room was authentic, lots of outside seating in the grounds, would benefit a small lounge area.

The breakfast was delicious with locally sourced products

We added one dinner to our stay and the dinner was delicious but the room it was served in was very cold

We had a great time here. We really liked the accommodation, it was clean and well heated. We also tried the hot tub. The castle was amazing and the breakfast was served in the great hall. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The host was very friendly and happy to answer our questions. It was a really great experience for me. I can only recommend this place to everyone, especially those who love castles.

This place was great! Toby was an EXCEPTIONAL host and was so nice and accommodating. The breakfast in the great hall was such a unique and fun experience. Seeing the Chapel which dates back to medieval times was amazing. The old style keys and ordering of breakfast was a unique, fun experience. The grounds are so calming and natural and staying in a castle with all of the comforts of the modern world was so much fun!

The only complaint we had was we couldn't tour the Castle tower but we can't even complain about that since the owner live there and it's their personal space.

This is really a hard one to review as its an amazing piece of history and loved the place to look around ! Breakfast was so good in the great hall and the host was polite and friendly!

No comfortable chairs to sit if you want to relax just dining chairs with no support … not a lot of decent light inside if you need to read and shower room not very inviting . I get it is old and of historical interest which i loved but could still be clear of mould around the shower and cobwebs ..

We really loved this place! The area has such an interesting history and a unique atmosphere — it was something completely different from anything we’ve experienced before in Scotland. The room was special and very well set up. The host responded extremely quickly — faster than at any of our other stops — and everything went very smoothly. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Warm welcome. Lovely inviting room. Comfy bed. Breakfast in our room which was delicious. Great walks around the area. Definitely return
