Ortigia D'aMare

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The location is great and the host is very dear. The checkin is self made one and very easy. We received a short instructions with pictures how to do it. The apartment has everything you need.

I would avoid breakfast, we were given the coupns for the bakery where coffee was horrible and food below average. Despite the low quality breakfast, accommodation and host were great and we would come again.

Loved the view and location

I will always remember this wonderful place and wish to go there again! The view from the window was simply divine! I felt like I was in seventh heaven! The accommodation was tastefully furnished, comfortable and wide bed, quite big bathroom, small kitchenette which even had a small fridge! There was even a washing machine! All the sights are very close by. Wonderful restaurants and bars nearby! Breakfast was across the street at a café where, for a voucher given by the owner, a talkative and kind Sicilian woman served me a delicious cappuccino and croissant of my choice. I will miss this view outside my window! Thank you so much!!!

We picked this spot because it appeared to be central to Ortigia, the archaeological sights, and the train station. It was a bit out of the way, so walking to these areas took an extra 5-7 minutes or so. HOWEVER, the VIEW of the harbor from the window was so fantastic it was absolutely worth the extra walking in my opinion! The apartment came with the basic essentials, including pots, pans, plates, some coffee and some sugar. They also provided "tickets" for a free breakfast (espresso + croissant) at the bar across the street. The apartment was nicely remodeled and has all new furniture and everything. It also felt very secure with 3 keys to get in.

The outside of the building was a bit run down looking - but the interior is nicely remodeled and everything is new and clean. I wish there was a vegetable peeler, a sharp knife and a cutting board... but we were able to make do with what was available. WIFI was a bit slow at times, but otherwise worked pretty well.

While this tiny apartment is not on Ortigia proper, it is only a short walk, has parking available, and has a beautiful view of the harbor. Also, breakfast coupons are provided for small breakfast at two very good caffeterias. Try the brioche bun with sweet ricotta cream!
