Really nice room. Staff was lovely. Breakfast was nice. Very dog friendly.

Room was a bit cramped with all 4 of us, I should've checked beforehand but assumed from photos there would be an additional room

Beautiful house set in peaceful wooded setting away from road. Guest facilities provided everything we required and Ailsa, the owner and her staff were most welcoming.

Absolutely stunning property with decadent decor! We stayed in the Queen Ann room (I think that's what it was called) & the 4 poster bed was gorgeous plus a single bed & also a small attached room with another single bed for my son. There was a guest kitchen full of utensils, cooker, fridge & microwave so we cooked 1 evening. The lady of the house was such a lovely person & a true character! It felt like a home from home & was spotless! We will definitely be visiting again 😀

Nothing, everything was perfect

This is an exceptional place to stay. If you are bored of bland and beige hotels, this is the one for you. Elegant proportions, bone china, a guest kitchen, a fabulous landlady who encourages you to play the piano, places to sit both indoors and out, history and views. The breakfast is immaculate and the owner of the hotel is warm and quite unlike any other hostess I’ve ever met. A true character.

nothing. It’s great. We were on foot- took a cab from Penrith Station and would walk into Pooley Bridge along the siding for food, boats etc.

Ailsa and Romaine were delightful. Absolutely perfect hostesses. Breakfast was amazing……..wish I could train my wife of 53 years to fry eggs like Ailsa!!! Peter and I couldn’t have wished for a better base for our fishing trip. We’ll definitely be back xxxxx
