An amazing experience with Juan, Ana and their beautiful family. A truly memorable time which we will hold close to our hearts forever. The weaving class was incredible and we took home our own hand woven items!

Ana María and her family make you feel at home, comfortable and welcomed with open arms. They offer breakfast and dinner as well as a number of different classes in cooking and rug making. The bnb is walking distance to the local market with fresh pastries, fruits, meats and delicious cacao drinks. The neighbors are kind and accommodating. All in all, it was a perfect experience:)

"Stay at beautiful weaving family"

10.0

Carlos, Ana-Maria and all the family is pure gem in Teotitlán del Valle in Oaxaca. All the family members are weavers and you can experience Zapotec weaving and dyeing with them. This is special place and one of a kind.

Everything is more than I expected. Please note that the village is in a valley, so keep in mind that there are up and downs. Wear comfortable shoes.

This family was incredibly welcoming, generous, and accommodating! I quickly felt part of the family and they were also very respectful of my private space and time. I did a cacao and weaving workshop. Both were incredible! They were so so patient with me learning to weave patterns which took me much longer than I anticipated!! I am also learning Spanish and they were very patient and kind as I practiced and very helpful in correcting me. I ate most of my meals with them and Anna's cooking is very delicious! I am a vegetarian and she had no problems accommodating that. The space was very calm and relaxing. I enjoyed waking up to their music while they worked on the loom. They weave most of the day so you will always have a chance to watch and see how they do it. The town of Teotitlan I also loved very much. It is small and quiet and beautiful. It is a short walk into town, maybe 5 minutes or so. Everyone is very very kind! I wish I did not have to leave and do plan to come again in the future! I cannot recommend this place enough!

The roosters call in the night and you can hear the neighborhood dogs sometimes at night. But with earplugs it was fine.

Staying here was to experience the genuine life of a Zapotec weaving family. No frills and very honest, humble hosts.

Great helpful family. Got to watch them weave. It's a bit of a climb from the centre of town, but with that comes beautiful views.

"It was such a treat to stay here. Highly recommend!"

The 3 generation family was truly wonderful. We had enuf privacy but also felt part of things. It was perfect. If you want to experience zapotecan life, this is where to do it. For an additional reasonable cost, we had wonderful traditional breakfasts (including grasshoppers) with almost everything home grown and organic. We watched them weave, took a dying workshop, saw primary school kids learn how to put feathers on headdresses. All great.

Walking to the house from the zocalo is quite steep.

We really felt like a home stay, a room in a part of the family home, with 3 generations and the weaving looms in the same area The bed was comfortable and we slept very well! Shower was hot (after running a little while) and toilet are basic and shared, but fine. Our hosts made us feel so welcome, they did everything to smooth our travels and the food they cooked was wholesome and homely. The roads in village are a bit bumpy if coming by rental car, but nothing different to out of town mexican roads! Big thank you to Ana and Carlos!

"Great experience!"

Simple room, but with a very nice family. Shared the bathroom with some of the family it seemed. It was interesting to witness daily life here and see people working on the looms. They offer different workshops that you pay for. I did the tortilla making workshop. I also bought 2 of their beautiful tepetes (hand-made rugs).
