Ruins Villa

Maison bien située loin de l'agitation de la ville mais a proximité de la cité ancienne à vélo. Arrivés trop tardivement à la guesthouse pour envisager une visite, il nous a fait decouvrir la riziere, des oiseaux et a cueilli des noix de coco pour nous faire gouter le lait. Notre hôte est passionné par la nature et nous a emmené faire des balades nocturnes pour nous montrer des animaux locaux. Super accueil, il est au petit soin pour nous. Sa compagne cuisine divinement bien ! Nous avons adoré notre séjour là-bas !

Beautiful house in the forest, right behind the ancient city.

Maison en pleine nature, très agréable et apaisant. Notre hôte a été aux petits soins, dans l'échange, très curieux et très intéressant. Nous y avons également très bien mangé. La chambre était propre et confortable. Nous étions suffisamment proche du site archéologique de Polonnaruwa, où nous nous sommes rendus en louant des vélos a un prix dérisoire. Le + non-négligeable: la balade nocturne pour observer la faune locale avec le propriétaire des lieux. Génial !

服务特别周到认真，可以订早餐和晚餐，都很美味可口，很有生活气息，店主非常热情，乐于助人。门口可以租用自行车，我还在他家订了看大象Safari的旅行，体验很不错～

希望WiFi可以提升，因为4G网络信号较差

Upali is so kind and welcoming, the breakfasts and dinners were delicious and plentiful. The real highlight was the night walk that Upali took us on - we saw hornbills, mouse deer and fireflies. We hope to return one day

This place was amazing! Beautiful location, very comfy bed and such friendly hosts! I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to go to Polonnarawu. It’s very affordable and the location is right next to the ancient city. You can get a bicycle to get around. The food is amazing, the wife of the host is a truly amazing chef. Every night we would go for a little wild life walk, free of charge! He also helped me to arrange a safari tour, which was very affordable; I was by myself and I paid the entrance fee and I had a my own driver/guide and in total I did not spend more than €75,-!! I would recommend everyone going here!

L’emplacement est idéal pour visiter la cité ancienne de Polonnaruwa. Upali m’a emmenée faire une promenade nocturne pour découvrir la faune locale. Délicieux repas et petit déjeuner traditionnel.

El entorno, personal, habitación muy amplia con cama cómoda. Desayuno ceylandes muy rico!

Quizás por la falta de geles d ducha. Aunque nos facilito mas pastillas de jabón y toallas extra.

Le propriétaire est adorable. Location de vélo sur place possible pour aller visiter le site. Petite visite de la vie animale nocturne super sympa. Très bons repas et petit déjeuner.

The family were very nice and spoke English very well. The wife of the landlord cooked dinner (which we paid for) that was absolutely delicious.

We asked for a room with a fan rather than AC as AC can get a little too cold and drying and my daughter has asthma. When we arrived at the property there was a hornets nest outside our room and huge hornets were entering our room. So we unrolled the mosquito net over our bed to preserve some space that the hornets could not enter. However, the room also contained mosquitos and some were already settled on and inside the net. What is more the mosquito net had many large holes in it and was not going to prevent either hornets or mosquitoes from getting to us. Sri Lankan mosquitoes carry dengue fever so we were very worried. We managed to kill the hornet in the bathroom any many mosquitoes but could not get them all. Further, there was a large gap under the door that more insects could use to infiltrate our room. I rolled up my laundry and had to use it as a 'draft excluder' to prevent any more insects from getting in. The worst part was that we then had to protect ourselves from mosquito bites by wearing a long sleeve top, trousers and socks. This meant it was extremely hot in the room and we could not open any windows. The room contained AC so we turned the AC on but the landlord came and informed us that he would be doubling the price of our room for using the AC. We tried to explain that we could not sleep in light night wear under the mosquito net due to the holes but he did not want to listen and was not empathetic and charged us 25 USD cash for the room. Please see the photos of the mosquito net (which someone had tried to patch up several times, even with bandaids). Digging deeper in the reviews there seem to be a number which detail the 'heaps of mosquitoes' and also that the Wifi did not work. I had a Teams meeting that I could not conduct as the wifi did not infact work. This is a difficult review as it is clear that the family is struggling financially but customer's health cannot be compromised to save money.
