Romance in Ella

Everything was great starting from the room, the view, the breakfast and not to forget the super friendly host. The view from the property is just breathtaking and cannot be described in words until you actually experience it yourself.

The location was little isolated and it was a bit challenging to go out after evening since this property is not in city centre and is little away from it. But again you can't have the location and the view both at one place so no regrets at all for choosing this property.

One of our main reasons for coming back to Sri Lanka a second time was to stay here again. It has the most breathtaking view of anywhere we have ever stayed. The accommodation has some amazing features including a bathroom that opens up to outside and a ‘hanging ledge’ that you can lay/sit out on. The bed is comfortable and the furniture has a shabby chic feel to it. Sanjee and his family serve you breakfast each morning and you can sit and watch the sun come up in front of you. It looks as if it is located a long way from Ella but you can walk along the railway line in 20 minutes (everyone does it) or walk the other way to Ella rock. You just have to stay here if you are coming to Ella.

Small piece of mountain paradise on our way through SriLanka!!!!! And THAT wiew!!!! So calming, beautiful and quiet! This place is made with love🥰 there is everyrhing what you need, towells, water, fridge, amazing terase and balcony, we can sit there untill now if it is possible🥰owner was helpfull with everything, pick us by his tuk tuk, took us to the room and in evening direct to Ella, (it is maybe 6minutes and 2,5 eur by tuk tuk), and in Ella is lot of options for tuk tuk to take you back to the room, you don’t need to be afraid that it is hard reachable!

Everything: Sanjeewa's hospitality and kindness, the matchless view, the gorgeous bathroom, the comfort, the quiet, the scrumptious breakfasts, the provacy -- you name it.

Without doubt the best view from a hotel room I have ever had - it’s hidden out of the way from Ella so it’s quiet, but very accessible. We were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend

Communication from owner could be a bit better but not a big problem

This place is truly stunning, dont look anywhere else and book this one, you wont regret it! When you first walk into Romance in Ella you will be blown away by the spectacular view and the stunning design. Sanjee is an artist and every touch in this amazing place has been completed by him. It really does have the wow factor. It has quite possibly THE best view in Ella with a magnificent vista and waterfall right in front of you. Sanjee and his sister also make this place truly special, we were so well looked after, superb breakfasts every morning and always willing to help and take you into town or take you out and explore. There are some lovely local restaurants 5 mins walk to the right (down along the railway tracks) and a 10 minute walk into town along the tracks or we just took a tuk tuk into town whenever we wanted. Definitely stay out of the town as it's a really busy strip and easy to get to when you want to and escape back to paradise here, the true beautiful Ella. We were so comfortable and happy here we didnt want to leave after our 3 nights. Stay for as long as you can!

Everything was above expectations

The most amazing boutique homestay you will ever come across. Completely separate from their accommodation set on the hillside with exceptional views across Ella's lush landscape. The pictures on booking.com looked great but wait until you step inside! We stayed 2 nights but could have just packed up at home in England and moved in forever. The host Sanjee was fabulous from start to end. He even helped with us tuk tuk to get us up the steep lane to our drivers who's car wasn't fit for the hill. You do need a tuk tuk to get to and fromm Ella centre but it only cost 700 rupees. Do not let that put you off. So if you want an absolutely spectacular view in a quirky boutique do not hesitate to book here.
