Guruge villa

First of all, I saw all the great positive reviews and thought that it might be a little too good to be true. After a few nights at Guruge's, I totally understood all the hype. It's a little bit of paradise and you'll never want to leave. He offers you a glass of juice on arrival and slowly settles you in. The bedding is clean. You get a free towel. There's a fan in the room. The bathroom is spotless and has a hot shower. He offers laundry services. You can store things in the fridge. He has really fast WiFi (he likes to point out that's it's a fibre connection). There's so much nature around the spot but you never see any creatures in the house. You can just sit on the porch for hours just relaxing. The spot is a 10 minutes walk from the main intersection. It's in a nice quiet location. I stayed in the hostel room and later switched to the double room because I had some work to do. I could only see why he has some long term guests. I left right before he started some renovations so I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Honestly, nothing. I wish I never left. I actually left Hikkaduwa for Bentota and came back the next day because of how nice it was. It was definitely the highlight of my Sri Lanka trip. Very relaxing.

I am very happy with my stay in this place! The best hostel in Sri Lanka. The location is beautiful, not noisy, there are a lot of trees around, you can see mongooses, the owner of the villa can show you monkeys jumping on trees! There are enough sockets, a very clean place, mosquito nets, a good bathroom, there is a fan in the room and on the veranda. The owner of the villa is a wonderful person, he will always help you and tell you, he also treated me to local cuisine, it was very tasty). I planned to stay here for 3 nights, but ended up staying for more than a week! I will definitely return to this place again.

Super nice host, who served us local light food one evening, as he had too much and showed us around in his plentiful garden. We were welcomed with mango juice - very gracious host! Negombo was very humid the day, we spent there, so it was important to use the fan in the room at max! The beach was approx 13 minutes walking distance away and was perfect for us.

It's a really beautiful place, Guruge loves to show you around his garden and explain all the different plants. I loved it 💜 never tried fresh cinnamon straight from the open air 🤗

When you arrive you get directly a cold welcome drink. Guruge makes your stay comfortable and is willing to do everything for that. It is a lovely man who's making you a nice tea and food just for free. I booked for two nights and stayed up for more than a week. His garden is lovely with many animals and birds just over the place giving you a smile on your face. He explains to you which plants he has in his garden and even lets you try a few of them. His kitchen you can use to make some nice and healthy meals. I have many things to say but it was just an awesome place. Beach supermarket restaurant local and touristic not too far away from a walking distance. Thank you for this awesome week!

Nice and quiet place with a nice garden. Compfy bed with mosquito net. Kitchen and fridge available. Very friendly host. Clean rooms.
