good location, close to the city centre like 15-20 min by walk quiet area beautiful garden inside hotel

VERY COLD room and nothing helped not enough blankets TOO MUCH dirty in the room (trash from previous guests, used soap in the bathroom and dusty everywhere ...) long difficult communication with hosts in the evening not enough power sockets inside room, not any near bed too cold floor in bathroom no breakfast

The room and house were as pictured. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We liked the historical charm. We did enjoy the convenient location ,the burgers at Port of Call and the live jazz at Boffa's. However after this incident and the way it was handled, we would have to seriously reconsider our stay at Esplanade Mansion for a future visit. As per concerns explained below Management agreed to approve a one night refund.

The second day of our stay, Saturday May 21 between 2 and 4pm, became unpleasant when the couple in room next door started shouting,  using obscene/abusive language and kept slamming doors . We could hear/see male guest from our “balcony” window yelling angrily on the phone. This was not a reassuring and safe situation. We tried numerous times to contact Esplanade staff via telephone and text messages. ALL of the management/housekeeping numbers listed on wall chart were contacted. Unfortunately, weekday hours only, Monday to Friday, so no success in having our concerns addressed. One reply explained that a family event made it impossible to address the situation.  At one point,  a text message told us to call police, if we did not feel safe. Management did get back to us Monday morning and we discussed our serious concerns at length.  An upgrade was offered and we had to decline (we were leaving early the next morning). Unfortunately the rules of the property were not enforced. A manager should have called and come to the property in person to address the issue immediately and not 48 hours later.

BED BUGS in Unit 20!!! This company was informed of the bed bugs on April 29, did not inspect until May 2, and allowed guests to use the room! I traveled to this property directly from my home and continued to a different city immediately after visiting. I woke up with bites every morning for three consecutive days and was forced to believe I contracted the common bed bug from the property. Bed bugs are common, but KC management services denied my experience, used an irreputable company to evaluate the unit, and proceeded to tell me, "I contracted bed bugs from the flight or the cab". I incurred an expense of $1300 - future guests to reconsider their stay.

did not receive the email explaining how to access the property on arrival. it took us around 30 minutes to finally get in. there were no staff on site and no one came to enter the refuse bins in the kitchen or bedrooms the whole time we were there.
