Haven of Trees - Hafan Y Coed

The location was beautiful, with just a short drive from the 4 waterfalls walk. The 2 owners were so lovely. Always asking if we wanted anything more, giving us 2 portable heaters just in case we got cold, putting their own hot-spot on when the Wi-Fi didn't reach our room! The B&B is amazing value for money, with clean, comfortable beds and facilities. I honestly couldn't recommend it more. The past few months, there have been some negative reviews but the place has been completely turned around!

Location was amazing 🤩, perfect for someone who just wants to unwind and enjoy nature. Special thanks to Jodie, who is this awesome person that transformed and upgraded the whole experience ! Certainly will come again 😀

Location was great

but unfortunately the fire safety and heater were very poor. The room was so cold that a puddle of condensation formed under the bed against the wall. The fire detection system in the place was not working and detectors were missing or taped up. The fire control panel was stuck in full fault/alarm mode. No one should stay at a place like this with the unsafe electric heaters and the damp, someone will have accident soon and it could lead to a death as signage and lighting was not on escape routes.. this has been reported to the fire service

Friendly helpful enjoyable stay we spoke to owners and they explained their plans for the future and it's going amazing if it all comes together

It's a do it up kind of property it's not I did not like it we could the potential and really enjoyed our stay

QUITE A STINGY PLACE

If you're hiking around the Brecons and need a comfy bed and a friendly place to hang out afterwards this is perfect 🙌 It worked out £15 a night to stay ( sharing with a mate so £60 for two nights) it was warm, comfy bed and in a lovely location with a cracking pub a 5 min walk and owls outside at night with no light pollution. A proper old American feeling to the place and a exactly what was needed for a few nights of hiking and just needing a place to rest your head. If your particular about being super clean and everything together this isnt the place and why would it be for £15 a night. Me and my friend loved the charm of the place and especially Jodie who was like a beacon of light. Super welcoming, helped try and solve a multitude of issues with overbooking and facility issues but we were showered, bedded and made very welcome. The place needs plenty doing to it, but they are cracking on with it and I can't stress enough for the price I would stay here again and again. Gorgeous waterfalls 5 mins away by car, 30 mins to Pen Y Fan and a proper outdoors adventure charm to the place. Also.... Jodie was just amazing 👏 Kudos to her for everything she does and the love she has got the Haven.

Needs work to bring it back to its glory but for the price and having a realistic outlook, who cares if things aren't up to a £150 a night standard. If your after that, look elsewhere.

you won't find anything nice there

The place should have been closed down a long time ago. The room smelled awful, there was mold under the bed, the radiator didn't work, it was very cold in the room. I tried to talk to someone to make a complaint, but no one answered. I left a message with what happened and sent photos by email to booking.com, but no one responded. This location should not be published by booking.com. Rather than choosing this location, you would be better off sleeping in your car, and for free if they refuse. Don't even try. I read the reviews and thought, how bad could it be? It's below criticism. It's a shame that the laws in the UK are very weak and there are no inspections. Many locations should be closed (don't risk to going there)
