Great pub with perfect accommodation facilities for our family. Spacious rooms, fab breakfast and very welcoming hosts.

The location was good for our walk, and the breakfast was resonable. Car park available.

I booked a room with 2 single beds. Arrived to a double bed room. Booking.com why offer this selection and then not pass on to the hotel?? Well that is what the Dog Inn told me! They set up a sofa bed, but it was small and very hard with a hard ridge in the middle. Awful nights sleep! The room was damp, musty, and smelly! There was chewing gum left on the bedside lamp. Bad waterstains from the loo on the bathroom floor. Mould in shower, plus a lid left from previous occupants, which means it possibly wasn't cleaned in-between guests! We had an extra person joining us for breakfast which they made a fuss about, even though it's extra money for them. Overall we didn't feel very welcomed. Although the young lad who showed us to our room was lovely!

Greeting and check in by young lady behind the bar was exceptional especially as it was a busy few minutes for her. She checked whether we had eaten or not as the kitchen was closing - we appreciated this thought. We didn't have dinner but menu looked interesting. Breakfast was fine. We were a little later than advised in arriving and the pub rang to check that we were on our way which was also appreciated. Very convenient location and quite quiet even on a Saturday night. This could be an excellent pub with rooms but needs TLC.

Room was 'ok' but very tired and in need of refurbishment. Lighting was poor in bathroom especially. Loo flush needs attention. Pub carpets need replacement - for the usual reasons.
