Smelly toilet, low pressured water, weak air conditioning

整栋楼和房间都很漂亮，有种住在亲戚家的感觉，是一个很神奇的体验。 我住在面向花园的房间，没感觉到有噪音。 距离主要观光区大概走路十多分钟，距离恰到好处，周围有一些很local的好吃的小店。

门口就是非常繁忙的十字路口，有点危险。

Collin's place is truly a gem in the old town of Malacca. It really feels like u step into a time machine back to the 80s or 90s. The hotel is more of a family-run business where their members and guests often hang out, so sometimes u will hear noises from people's discussion, but that wasnt an issue for me. Some people might complain that the location is a bit off, about 10-15 minutes walk to the center - Jonker street where all the popular stores and cafes are. However I wouldnt be able to find 2 amazing local restaurants if I didnt stay at Collin's. Please check out Hainanese Kopitiam and Majestic Noodles - which is literally 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. They have super affordable yet tasty menu, frequented by locals.

The best thing for an antique hotel is that u feel like living in the past, and it's also the bad thing. Some of the facilities weren't maintained at its best, batteries died so remote control didnt work, towels were a bit old, water wasnt strong. But Collin's enthusiasm and quick supports make up for everything and make the whole experience very enjoyable for me. Not to mention the room is HUGE

Colin is a nice man and welcomed us warmly. The guest room was spacious, stylish, clean, and comfortable.

The traffic noise (nothing Colin can do about that) and the terrible noise generated by the very unfriendly people carousing, shouting and roaring in the cafe downstairs (I imagine that Colin could do something about this).

Room was very spacious, and bed was comfortable. Lady landlord was accommodating. Cat and saloon doors were cute.

Bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly (numerous long hair found in bathtub). Noisy streets, windows did not help. Location a bit far from city center. Man landlord was slightly rude.

Owner was very helpful. As I arrived late, he gave me all check-in instructions clearly. The place is a bit old but it's away from crowd and just 15mins walking to Jonker Street. There's a bank with ATM across the street and convenient if run out of cash. I didn't go for the breakfast so no comment. Room is clean and tidy. Wifi is excellent. There's a big dustbin on the hallway so no dustbin inside room is ok. Floor is a little squeaky (it's an old peranakan building)

The shower heater is quite noisy. I have travelled alot and never came across a shower heater that has so much noise. It does scared me using it first time. Water pressure is average. Unfortunately owner closed his cafe so it's not comfortable entering the mansion in darkness each time I go out. But I hear the cafe will open in Jan 2025 again. Great!
