Abbey and Esk Bed and Breakfast

Ruth & Tony were lovely. We were made to feel very welcome in their home. Great breakfast and wonderful chat. Clean and comfortable room. The property is located within easy walking distance of the central town, so we didn't need to drive once we'd arrived.

Ruth and Tony were absolutely lovely! Incredibly friendly and keen to please. So kind. Even went to the trouble of buying us a card and gift as we’re on our minimoon!!

If you’re not good with dogs or frightened beware. We were greeted by two little but loud dogs. Got used to them but very daunting if you’re not a dog fan.

Ruth and Tony were very welcoming. It was like coming home to my grandmothers. Well located for a walk into the town and harbour. Hoho bus close by for easy access to all the main sights if you don’t want to tackle the 199 Steps. Breakfast was plentiful. A lovely little B and B experience. Parking available right out the front, check google maps before arriving so you don’t miss your turn into the residents only access.

We packed a backpack for our 2 night stay. Accomodation is upstairs in a terrace and you may struggle with large luggage on the stairs. We also arrived on a VERY hot day so the room very warm, but Ruth happily provided a fan for our use.

4 flights of stairs to the bedroom and the walk from the station which is on a slight incline

We paid but no one there when we got there. No response to calls snd messages. Had to see alternative accommodation .
