Old School Byre

The location of this place is absolutely stunning. From the garden you look one way and see the ancient inselbergs of Assynt, look in most other and it’s the sea all the way to Skye, and the rolling coastal moorland dotted with Croft houses. Everything is empty and almost silent. In sunshine (which we had throughout our stay) it’s like the surface of another planet. Inside cosy and comfortable, with a serviceable kitchenette and nice powerful shower. It was a wrench to have to leave.

Remember to stock up before you arrive. You’re a long way from everywhere here.

Everything was fabulous, clean house, nice landlord, lovely place, a nice choice for a stop on NC500 tour! Will comeback sometime!

Comfortable small accommodation

Kicked the harth of the fire on five separate occasions. Luckily no broken toes.

Remote but lovely location. Had everything we needed.

Beautiful quirky accommodation. Great communication from a brilliant host. A fantastic location with amazing views. Clean, comfy - wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for having us!

It was so cosy and comfortable

Nothing really, please note the log burner didn’t have any fuel lighters and we couldn’t find the tea towel. Make it clear up front you have to clean it/take bedding off. It didn’t bother us, but could others.

Location, atmosphere and shower was just perfect! Lovely shelter with even better views.

There is nothing not to like.
