Calakmul Otoch Béek

Our host was so helpful and friendly and charming. He gave us a bag full of goodies to keep us going all day at Calakmul and also when we left for our next destination. The spacious and cozy cottage is also charming and so nice to return to after our trips to the sites over several days. Sitting outside in the evening we were once visited by a peacock! I believe this is the very best place to stay in the area!

I was happy with everything during our stay.

Very spacious, clean and relaxing place, perfect to stay for visiting Calakmul. Much better than the pictures. The living room is big, equipped with tea, coffee and water. The courtyard with trees and hammock was great to spend time there. The host is attentive and helpful. Next morning, they prepare a bag with snack, fruits and water, which was lovely because they are hard to find in this remote area. Plenty of space for parking. Very near to the ruins, Chicanna which I recommend to visit after Calakmul, and Becán. After staying one night at a rundown Cabañas in Conhuas at similar price, this place is a heaven.

The table didn't seem stable and there was no milk for the coffee for breakfast.

staff very friendly that provided us twice with a lunch package without asking for it, good tips for visiting the amazing side of Calakmul too, very nice archeological site of Becan a walk away but we didn’t go there. nice garden and situated in local town of Becan. Outside very nice with hammocks

we had no water (only the shower) so we had to find alternative methods to wash our hands, no facilities to make coffee (should be bought because it is really a minimal expense but for a costumer it makes a difference)

Super friendly staff. Showed us some maps of Calakmul. Clean. Quiet. We also received a little breakfast upon departure at 5am.

Bathroom had a damp smell. It was clean but needs better ventilation. The fridge was very noisy when switched on, so not super useful. The outside was decorated with blinking lights which, with semi transparent curtains, was very annoying during the night and we didn’t see a way to turn them off..

Connivence and nice that they provided a snack in the morning

I booked a room with two beds and was given a room with one bed and a extremely uncomfortable futon that had springs. It was impossible to sleep on.
