We loved the vibe of the apartment, the lovely terrace with sea view, it is in the heart of Salerno, very clean and comfortable. The owner is very very kind and helpful, helped us with infos about good restaurants, icecream and anything we needed

Formal Complaint - Booking.com Subject: Complaint - Request Full Refund for Booking #4401123206 - Mareluna Penthouse Luxur Suites Dear Booking.com Customer Service, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my booking (#4401123206) at Mareluna Penthous Luxury Suites in Salerno, Italy, for the dates July 2 to July 5, 2025. We booked 2 rooms for 4 adults and 2 children (ages 7 and 9), and the listing showed a singl address at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini N.4, 6th floor. Nowhere was it mentioned that the rooms woul be in two separate buildings several blocks apart. This was extremely inconvenient and stressful fo our family. Upon arrival: - The first room had no working air conditioning, which we discovered after unpacking. We wer then asked to move to another room in a different building, forcing us to repack everything. - The new room had the air conditioning blowing directly over the bed, making it uncomfortable t sleep - I had to cover my head to avoid the cold air. - We also found insects in both rooms, which was unacceptable. - The hallway leading to the elevator was pitch black, and the locks were very hard to use, whic made us feel unsafe, especially at night. The second room - located two blocks away - had weak air conditioning and also had bugs. As for breakfast: while it was technically provided, it was served in yet another separate building an Page 1 Formal Complaint - Booking.com not at all what was expected based on the property description. It fell well short of what would b acceptable for a place advertising itself as a "luxury suite." The listing was misleading in multiple ways, and the conditions we encountered were far below wha was promised. We request a full refund due to: - Misrepresentation of room locations - Faulty or inadequate air conditioning - Unhygienic conditions (insects in both rooms) - Safety concerns (unlit corridors and difficult locks) - Misleading presentation of breakfast and facilitie

Not a lot

The Concise Oxford English Dictionary's definition of the word 'Suite' is: 'A set of rooms' not a single room with four beds (two of put up camp style beds) crammed into one room. The word 'Suite' is used on several occasions in the advertising, the Booking.com reservation, the Booking.com price details so I expected for four of us to be staying in a 'Suite' not a single room. Upon research I have found other reviewers have stated  'The penthouse suite is nothing like in the pictures", "Basic room and facilities, not a luxury suite", "It stated ‘luxury penthouse’ and this was far from that" etc etc. The proprietor has also messaged me through Booking.com messages trying to scare me off with the threat of legal action for sending him messages (via Booking.com messages) and a request for compensation. English translation (using Google translate) "We have forwarded the messages and the case to our company's lawyer and we reserve the right to request damages and compensation for our image as well as stress caused by the continuous messages and unfounded requests for reimbursement." Am I bovered?.....Nah! I have also uploaded images that show 'the room' is at best described as unkempt: Peeling ceiling, black mould on shower ceiling, utensils cup/toothbrush cup in bathroom should be disposed of very promptly, extractor fan absolutely full of dirt/dust and as for the toilet brush...............well least said about that the better. I will conclude by stating that in my opinion I have obviously ruffled feathers and the proprietor has become agitated and or irritated because I had the nerve/cheek to actually complain. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions. **Update** Have yet to hear from the proprietors lawyer!! Plus my credit card company have undertook to make a chargeback claim on my behalf, though this would be against Booking.com as that is whom I paid.

"Below what expected"

The gentleman was proactive by detailing me the way to get easily into the building & apartment. He was kind by providing a list of restaurants & attractions. Few minutes walking to Salerno Trains Main station. Few minutes walking to the port toward Amalfi. Many restaurants & mini-markets are around. Beautiful balcony view. Breakfast was inclusive however limited to a cup of coffee, a croissant, & a small glass of juice. Daily cleaning. He granted us early check-in & late check-out.

Mattresses were not comfortable including the sofa bed. One AC voice was very very bad ... I talked to the gentleman upon check-in but no action; I & my wife lost 2 days of our vacation due to poor & improper sleep ... Booking.com should compensate me. Someone has entered our apartment during our absence (without our conscent), added some breakfast vouchers, and removed the operating "card"; hence the electricity got disconnected and so the ACs; thus our Chocolates we brought from Zurich have melt & one of my wife's medicine has been damaged... such access behaviour was illegal! The fridge is too small. The apartment layout is impractical; people sleeping in bedroom-1 should pass thru bedroom-2 to enter the toilet. There is no Living room as mentioned in the apartment description.
