Port Levy B & B Christchurch

The hosts (and their cat) are wonderful, here for us but not too present. Super good homemade breakfast.

The hosts were exceptional. Food served was 5 star and the venue and location is just breathtaking. Will definitely return.

The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, the room and accommodation very warm and comfortable and the breakfast the next morning plentiful. Would definitely recommend a stay here, the views from the room and spa are something special too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the warm hospitality of Martin and Verity. The three course dinner and breakfast were exceptional, with Verity serving wild mussels for our entrée, freshly gathered from the shoreline right in front of their property. We were given multiple options for breakfast ranging from a full English to poached eggs on toast. We also loved the fresh air and stunning views. Bed was comfortable. The easiest route here from Christchurch is via Lyttelton along a fully paved road. While Google Maps may suggest taking Pigeon Bay Road from Akaroa, keep in mind that about halfway in, it becomes a narrow, winding gravel track, only wide enough for a single vehicle. The scenery on this route is stunning, but the route isn’t ideal for those with vertigo or less confident behind the wheel, and it’s best attempted in daylight.

Breakfast was excellent!! 3-Course dinner was mouthwatering good!! Sea views and jacuzzi with stargazing at night was magical. Everything was awesome!!

There was not a single thing that was not 1st class: the people, the venue, the food,the facilities,the conversation, the view etc etc etc. This is a very special place to stay.

Martin and V are so warm welcome. And all the meal is so awesome. The place is perfect match for the peaceful hideaway. I just love it 🤍

Martin and Verity were great hosts, friendly and considerate. We had a guest suite on lower level to ourselves and access to a nice living/dining room area and outdoor spaces including a hot tub and rocky shoreline. Kayaks were available that we did not use as we choose to relax and unwind during our last day in NZ. We stayed 2 nights and had the 3 course dinner which was excellent.

We drove from Akaroa and evidently took one of two options. It was a single lane winding gravel road that fortunately had us not encounter a single other vehicle on the road. If traveling from Akaroa, encourage you to consider your options to make sure you travel the road that suits you. We actively chose a place away from things to just relax at the end of our trip, if you are looking for a place close to restaurant options and top tourist spots, then this place is less a fit IMO.
