The Strand Road Guest House

La struttura e posta sopra a un pub, entrano tutti gli odori della stessa nella stanza e diventa insopportabile l'odore. Abbiamo dovuto dormire con le finestre aperte, inoltre il rumore continuo dei camerieri che giustamente devono pulire e sistemare il pub. Basterebbe insonorizzare di piu le stanze vista la posizione. Stanza non pulitissima lo scopettino del wc sporco come mai visto prima in una stanza d'albergo.

Tomas (young man who did the check in) was very professional and friendly. Also, I had car problems and Tomas kindly got me details for local mechanics. Room was cosy and spacious. Lots of snacks left in the room as long with tea and coffee.

Staff were friendly and checking in and out was easy even though I needed to leave early in the morning. Shower and loo were clean and worked. The bed was very comfortable. There was to be no breakfast with booking so I wasn't expecting much. A toaster in the room would have been helpful.

Slightly concerned by a couple of noisy young lads (possibly with drink taken) running down the street at around 1am and loudly discussing stealing a car!

There was no breakfast option but Catherine supplied cereals and loads of biscuits to have with our tea and coffee. Great restaurant and bar downstairs

Das Pub ist ein sehr gutes Speiselokal, unbedingt die Nähe nutzen (und reservieren!), es lohnt sich. Zentrale Lage, gratis Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus oder in unmittelbarer Nähe, gutes WLAN.

Leider gibt es da ein paar Punkte. Zur Begrüssung gab es nicht ein "wie geht es?" sondern "habt ihr schon bezahlt?", nicht gerade der beste Einstieg. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein, Frühstücken kann man nur auf dem Bett, der kleine Tisch geht eher unter Dekoration. Morgenessen und Kaffee muss man sich über die Strasse im Supermarkt besorgen. Dem Gebäude entsprechend, das Zimmer ist anliegend an ein Pub, ist es während der Betriebszeiten des Pubs eher laut im Zimmer, das geht allerdings nicht bis spät in die Nacht. Eher störend war der Motor vor dem Haus, welcher 24/7 in Betrieb war und summte. Sehr speziell war dann die Erfahrung danach: ich bekam nach dem Aufenthalt zwei Mal über verschiedene Nummern via WhatsApp eine Nachricht, dass wir zu viel bezahlt hätten und eine Rückerstattung bekommen. Name, Telefonnummer und Buchungsdaten absolut korrekt, nur der Betrag war falsch! Dass wir nach einem Aufenthalt in einer Unterkunft mit persönlichen Daten in einen Phishing-Fall involviert sind, ist dann doch etwas zu viel des Zufalls - den Fall sowohl Booking.com wie auch den Behörden gemeldet.
