Wester Auchraw Croft B&B

Completely chilled out! Host was amazingly comforting. Breakfast was something we've never experienced before, but was an amazing change. We have never left somewhere so chilled out.

That we hadn't booked another night!

Beautiful old Croft

Water was cold

The room was big; the bed was clean and comfortable; there’s a plug socket next to the bed; the breakfast was fantastic (even if the avocado salad curiously lacked any avocado!)

The front window blind doesn’t cover the whole window – with the light on, passers-by can see you in bed; the front blind is horribly water stained (at least dye it a dark colour, so the water stains don’t show!); there is no blind on the side window so I didn’t want to walk around my own room in a state of undress; there was no toilet paper for the first five hours (and no-one immediately around to ask); there was no wifi code displayed (and no-one immediately around to ask); a chest of drawers was moved to *right* outside my door during the evening – walked out of the door whilst looking at my watch and walked slap into it; bathroom blind is sheer – if dark outside and a light on inside, passers-by can see in; cleanliness wasn’t great. None of these is related to the building being old. This was the most expensive – and by far the worst quality – accommodation of my trip. All of the issues I encountered are easily resolvable, and once done, it wouldn’t be a bad place.

The location was perfect, 2 minutes walk from the loch. The building it's self has been very tastefully restored and theres a beautiful garden to sit in. The owner was really freindly and made us a delicious breakfast in the morning, made with some veggies she had growing in her garden. It was fabulous!

Lovely small bedroom, very clean, good quality bedding & we had use of the sitting room. The breakfast was delicious.

The bathroom for the yurt was in the main property, which was accessed through the sitting room. The adjoining kitchen also appeared to be in general use.

We had a very warm welcome from Melanie, the breakfast was fab and Orla the cat was gorgeous. It's a very interesting place to stay.

We found it cold.

The owner, and Gillian a local friend who had come in to help, were both lovely. Gillian was great fun, gave us some great local recommendations and made us a delicious breakfast in the morning. It's a gorgeous house, where you feel very accommodated for, we really enjoyed our stay.

Didn't necessarily dislike anything, there could maybe be more photos to show what the space is like, and maybe inform the customer of the living arrangements/sharing kitchen etc as it's some may want to know in advance - it worked great though, and will be recommending to others!

Melanie is a wonderful, warm and generous host and made us feel extremely welcome. The Croft itself is beautiful and really interesting historically with all modern home comforts, including a very comfy bed with heated blanket, amazing round bath, and a great selection of teas, coffee and treats. The home cooked breakfast was special, quite honestly the most delicious I've ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I'm just sorry we couldn't have stayed longer!
