Melanie is a super host. The place is lovely very stylish and super clean. We had a great time, loved her Jack Russell dogs and breakfast was delicious 😋

Nothing. Everything was super.

"Rustic charm!"

9.0

The inside of the croft is beautifully restored and when the log burner is lit, very cosy. The host prepared an amazing and very generous breakfast and we had very good company from the couple who had been staying in the yurt.It was also very quiet.

From the photos, I thought the views from the windows would be more of the countryside rather than the road and houses opposite. The bedroom and bed felt a little cramped as we're tall people, but once we realised we could use the sitting room this didn't matter. However, the shower room really is tiny and we both found the sink awkward to use because of the placement of the mirror.

"Unusual, nice setting, but like staying in a strangers house for a night."

5.0

The setting is nice and the weather was lovely which really helped.

No one was there when we 'checked in' which was fine as the host communicated via text message. However, there was no instruction or further communication in the evening. The toilet was shared for the house where the host lives with her sister, so it is not private and this wasn't explained at all so it was a bit awkward when we went to get ready at night. It would have helped had this been explained at check in to avoid the awkward moment in the evening. The breakfast was a poached egg and toast. It was tasty but not the full breakfast and no choice at all. It was a very unusual experience. The yurt was nice but not insulated and not the cleanest. It was okay for a night but for the price of the stay we did expect more. The house is full of animals and the dog escaped in the morning and I ended up having the follow it around the village first thing. A bit bizarre. Again, had someone explained some of this (ie be careful as the dog does escape) it would have helped.

A lovely unique experience. Felt immediately welcomed into Melanie's home. Having a leisurely breakfast chatting around the kitchen table whilst Melanie prepared a gorgeous breakfast was a great finish to what had been a perfect week exploring some of Scotland. The house is just stunning and being made to feel really part of it rather than just another guest was really special.

"Awful."

2.0

We didn't have the breakfast as we left very early in the morning but the yurt itself was lovely and the bed was comfortable. However I would not have chosen this property if I had known I would be sleeping in someone's garden!

This was advertised as a bed and breakfast with an onsite restaurant. It was in fact the host's home, with a very small en-suite room which we were first shown to by mistake, and a yurt in the host's garden. The host was around within the property, as were several of her pets, which made us feel uncomfortable, like we were intruding in her home, and didn't have the privacy we would have liked. We were shown a bathroom within the main house and told this was our bathroom and that we would have access to it through the night if needed. The bathroom had no lock on the door and the host actually walked in on me whilst I was in. I also attempted to use it in the early hours of the morning and found the door to the property locked, so had to walk to a nearby public toilet in my pyjamas. There was also no onsite restaurant as this was not a bed and breakfast as expected, but more like an airbnb but with a lack of privacy. We had to travel to a nearby town to get dinner as there was nothing in Lochearnhead. We ended up leaving very early in the morning and headed home. A very disappointing stay.
