Heir Island House

Claudia & Craig were wonderful hosts! The island is very peaceful! We brought our dog who was very well looked after. The bed was comfy and the hot tub was a bonus! Would definitely visit again and would recommend to others!

We travelled here for a 2 night break, with our 2 Jack Russells. Out host, Claudia, meet us at the pier and drove us the short distance to her home. The accommodation was warm, inviting and comfortable. Claudia and Craig were very friendly and hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The island itself is beautifully set in magnificent surroundings and the few residents we encountered were very friendly. Definitely a place to visit if you enjoy a relaxing break, with the occasional walk to the beach or to other parts of the island, for example, the west of the island, from where you can see Fastnet Rock Lighthouse.

We may have visited just before the start of the season, but there was little to do on the island after we got the last ferry at 6pm. Anything you might want, or need, you will have to bring across to the island, as there is no shop. Although the food that Claudia cooked for us was delicious (if she offers you the grilled Sea Bass, do yourself a favour and take it), I did think that €22 was a bit on the expensive side for a full Irish breakfast.

There is so much to like about this property. The location is absolutely sublime but it also felt a real home from home. So when the rain came, a cosy afternoon on the lounge sofa, reading and playing games was definitely called for! Claudia and Craig are lovely hosts with great attention to detail, so if the dawn chorus keeps you awake, there are ear plugs and if it is a bit chilly, there are hot water bottles to grab! Claudia is also a brilliant cook and the price of our three course meal was really reasonable. I wish this couple all the very best as they develop their business.

The room we chose, was the smallest and it did feel a little on the cosy side, so we enjoyed the more spacious lounge area. There are a variety of rooms so if we stayed again, we would pick a larger room.

Location! The island is fantastic! Greg and Claudia were just lovely! There is no shop or pub on the island, so you need to come prepared.! But this adds to the adventure.

Nothing to dislike!

Well the island itself is the main selling point. The B&B was warm and welcoming, cosy yet modern, in an idyllic location. The hosts are lovely .. attentive if you want, but also happy to leave you be.

I loved Heir island house . Claudia and Craig were very friendly. A great selection for breakfast .The room was lovely The bed was comfortable. Its a lovely place to stay . You wake up to quietness . Its so tranquil . Lovely little beeches on the island .

Friendly staff fabulous location homemade food was excellent.
