USCabins la Palma are beautiful cabins in a rural setting. The wood work is fantastic. Cabins are 2story with a loft bedroom and a main bedroom. 2 king beds in each cabin. The beds have flannel sheets which are very warm. Outside of the warm bed, it gets very cold at night. We were there in January for butterfly season. Dinner was great and a reasonable price. But they don't want to take credit cards. Bring Peso cash.
The biggest problems were that the Hot water didn't work at all and the Wifi was very weak and unstable. But it was only 1 night, we still enjoyed the stay.
USHand built cabins with a great look and feel. The beds were really comfortable. The cabins were beautiful with the XMAS lights and the lit XMAS tree at night. The small bonfire with wood seats all around, and the tables with umbrellas added to the park like setting. The staff are WONDERFUL and the restaurant is wonderful, good food, but not inexpensive. Additionally, there are snacks, breads, soft drinks available for purchase. Martin and Tamara were wonderful to us, and I will go back! I drive my own car and carry a portable heater, coffee maker and hot water electric kettle. It is just a 10 minute or less drive to Angangueo. I love the drive to Mariposa Rosario and Chincua from here.
We were there for 2 nights, Jan 22 and Jan 23. Oh my gosh, it was so cold when the sun went down. I hope the owners will consider placing electric heaters in the cabins, and insulate the cabins. Even with my own heater, the temp inside was 50 F degrees at night. But the beds were comfortable and WARM! Hot water was a bit tricky, but once it was running warm, it was a good shower. The architecture and brick work on the restaurant building is terrific, but some big fireplaces would be a real plus in there, especially at dinner and breakfast.
