"Exceptional experience"

We had an exceptional stay at the Cristalino Lagoon Front Hotel, Restaurant & Spa. The team is great, welcomes you with warm perfume towels and fresh infused water, and is always carrying. They booked us exceursions and even offer massage and haircut services, which my fiancée used and was very satisfied with. The room was large, clean, comfortable, luxurious, and the one we had with the laggon view was exceptional. It is 9 min far from the city with car which is very practical and has a parking. The hotel has all the equipments, lands you kanoe and paddle, has a nice restaurant which serves great food, and the view on the lagoon from the pool and the restaurant is stunning. the are two wood pontoons from which you can lie down on sun beds by the laggons, or take paddle and kanoe. This is the best hotel we had during our 15 days trip in the Rieviera Maya and Yucatan.

Die Lage, das Essen im Restaurant, das Bett und das Bad

Das Hotel nennt sich Spa, hat aber gar keine Spa. Eigentlich der Hammer, dass man das einfach so behaupten darf. Das Hotel hat ein Schimmelproblem. Bei Beschwerde über den Gestank wird einem ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, aber nicht etwa ein Upgrade, sondern ein downsize, hä????? Das Problem sei bekannt, man „arbeite“ daran…warum wird dann ein solches Zimmer überhaupt angeboten? Wir müssen die Klimaanlagen nonstop laufen lassen, damit die Klamotten nicht pitschnass werden = Ohrstöpsel tragen! Von außen vollgeschissene Fenster und Balkongeländer, keine Möglichkeit Badeklamotten aufzuhängen.Minibalkon ohne Auflagen auf den wirklich harten Holzstühlen Es handelt sich angeblich um ein 5 Sterne Hotel. Da ich ( auch beruflich) viel in dieser Kategorie Reise auf der ganzen Welt hier ein paar no gos in diesem Haus, die einfach nicht angemessen sind und die in dieser Kategorie nicht akzeptabel sind — kein Fahrstuhl, wir müssen bei der An— und Abreise die Koffer selber die Treppen hoch und runter tragen — Abgezählte Kaffekapseln für einen Tag, danach muss man zahlen — gleiches gilt für die Minibar. Man muss unterschreiben, das man die eigenen Getränke nicht aufbewahren darf! In andern 5 Sternehotels wird die Minibar jeden Tag kostenlos aufgefüllt, Kaffeerefill bekomme ich ja selbst in einem Motel! — das Personal im Restaurant ist bemüht, kann aber nicht mal eine Flasche Wein öffnen. Korken bricht ab, schweineteure Flasche wird aber nicht ersetzt. Es gibt zwar eine Weinkarte, aber Niemand ist in der Lage dazu etwas zu sagen ( ist der Wein trocken?) — eigentlich sieht man außer dem Restaurantpersonal niemanden, die müssen einem sogar die Badehandtücher organisieren — blödes WhatsApp Getue mit teils sinnfreien Nachrichten ( Bild mit einem mir unbekannten Getränk ohne Kommentar) — Begrüssungsdrink: ein Schnapsglas mit Wasser 😂😂😂 Insgesamt eigentlich für den Preis eine Frechheit. Wir haben auf unserem Mexicorundtrip bessere 3 Sternehotels gehabt

"Bon séjour avec un accès direct au Lagoon."

L'hôtel est vraiment très bien situé, offrant un parfait accès au Lagoon. Il est appréciable d'avoir à disposition paddle et kayak pour se déplacer sur le Lagoon. Il est à une bonne 20n de minutes de marche du centre de Bacalar où se trouvent d'autres restaurants.

Il manque à mon sens quelques services afin de justifier le prix, pourquoi pas le petit déjeuner ? Le bar/restaurant de l'hôtel est ouvert quasiment toute la journée mais chaque consommation est payante avec demande de Tips systématique. La qualité des fenêtres de la chambre laisse un peu à désirer car celle-ci n'est pas très bien insonorisée, et que les fenêtres présentent des grosses traces (condensation entre les vitres?) obstruant la vue de la chambre.... Les échelles du ponton pour accéder au Lagoon sont couvertes de mousses/vases et sont donc très glissantes, c'est dommage.

"Heel mooi hotel"

De locatie was prachtig, het personeel was super vriendelijk. Het beste bed waar we ooit in lagen en de strandbedden waren ook zalig. Mooiste plek ooit

Het eten en drinken was wel echt heel duur

"Superbe"

La réactivité et la gentillesse du personnel, nous avons prolongé d’une nuit. Le restaurant est superbe, nous y avons dégusté les meilleurs nachos de notre séjour au Mexique! Accès direct au lagon de Bacalar avec pontons et piscines.

El hotel es espectacular, con unas vistas a la laguna desde el restaurante y la piscina increíbles. Las habitaciones están muy nuevas y con camas super grandes. El personal muy atento y amable, tuvimos un percance en el viaje y atendieron a todas nuestras necesidades

"Extremely Misleading, Unwelcoming, and Uncomfortable Stay"

Location and view

Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. Misleading pricing / forced New Year’s Eve dinner: After paying USD $814.65 on Booking.com, we were informed after arrival that there was a mandatory New Year’s Eve dinner charge of USD $153 per person (USD $306 total), which would be charged automatically even if we did not want to eat at the hotel. When we questioned this, the hotel told us via WhatsApp that the charge was included on Booking.com in “small letters” as part of their “contract.” This was never clearly or transparently presented during the booking process. A charge of this size should be clearly highlighted before payment, not justified afterward in fine print. It felt like we were obligated to eat at the hotel on New Year’s Eve, one of the most important nights of the year, when we specifically did not want to be forced into a set dinner. This completely ruined the experience and sense of choice. While at the hotel, other guests shared with us that they experienced the same surprise regarding the mandatory New Year’s Eve charge, confirming this was not an isolated issue. Reception experience (12/31 around 8:00 PM): Upon arrival, the front desk staff member did not look at us, did not greet us, did not ask how our trip was, and did not say any welcoming words. The staff member remained focused on the laptop for about 5 minutes, creating an extremely awkward moment. After a long drive and arriving excited, this felt cold and unprofessional — something that even 3–4 star hotels normally handle much better. Checkout experience: At checkout, we were not asked how our stay was, there was no interest in feedback, and no closing courtesy. Handling of feedback: The hotel created a WhatsApp group chat for communication. When we attempted to calmly share our experience and concerns there, we were REMOVED from the group (see screen shot) without any response or explanation.
