A lot of reviews talked about a sewage smell. Well, I had that room. They were very good about getting rid of the smell that day, and it did not come back. I was there for 6 days and 5 nights. They never came to clean the room, even when I asked on the third day. I never received clean towels when I asked for them, also, on the third day. I ended up washing them myself in the free laundry room in the basement. Other than that, the staff were helpful despite the language barrier. Having a night watchman there was comforting, and he was very helpful. The other guests were friendly, and I got invited to their "Happy Hour" on the gazebo. I would probably go back because of the price, but knowing now that I will be treated as a tenant and not a guest.

Bed was comfortable. It was close to my family that I was visiting. It was affordable. The grounds in back are very pretty and well kept.

The entrance to the building is uncared for without being swept or cleaned up around the walk or large sign. After I checked in and paid I didn't see any staff during entire the week. The first room was unsuitable as it was next to the service driveway and kind of depressing. Also, with no AC I didn't want to leave the door open on the ground floor. They did give me a nicer room on an upper floor, which I appreciated. That room had 2 ceiling fans, one of which didn't work the other made loud grinding/screeching noises. The wifi password was wrong, they told me they'd give me the new password "tomorrow" then I never saw them again. At first I thought there was no hot water, but later figured out that it took a minimum of 8 minutes for warm water to come to the shower. There was roach powder visible on the kitchen counters. Icky old used sponge at the sink. I had to buy my own toilet paper and drinking water. I honestly just needed a good bed, so it wasn't the worst experience, but it was weird. If I'd expected a regular hotel I would have been sorely disappointed. The only staff I saw during my stay was a sweet man that sat in the dark lobby at night to help with the front door. FYI - the lovely upscale restaurant next door is not part of the hotel and is not representative of the experience you will have with your stay.
