Casia Lodge and Ranch

We stayed for one night for my husbands birthday. We had a small room which was fine for one night, however a portable air conditioner with a tube stuck in the window was taking up space along with a floor fan. The air conditioner was very noisy. Too noisy to sleep with it on even though we didn’t want the window open due to wildfire smoke and 100 degree days. It was surprising that there was no central air since the resort is in eastern WA that has very hot, wildfire prone summers. Also surprising because the resort is part of the Small Luxury Hotel group. The hotel has charming and eclectic spaces. The staff were helpful and polite but they seemed inexperienced in high end hospitality. The restaurant was disappointing since I have dined at Jason Wilson’s restaurants many times and know he is a marvelous chef. They were out of the wine I ordered. There wasn’t a sommelier to give us wine info. My husbands elk chops were tasty but served with a rather bland farro. He asked for salt that never arrived. My pasta had a lot of ingredients that were in chunks, including some thick fatty bacon. The peach salad was refreshing and interesting. Considering the price we were paying the food disappointed.

Location and surrounding views .. peaceful, nice rooms and pool area, rustic charm.

Very poor facilities for a hotel listed as “best small hotels of the world”. No tea or coffee in the room, that provided in the dining room just lost its appeal during day and wasn’t refreshed unless you could find someone to ask. Breakfast was very poor, no simple choices like cereal or toast, or simple croissants, and the only eggs available were stone cold boiled eggs. Showers had shampoo and lotion but no shower gel. Just a range of things that you’d think would be there in a listed hotel.

Beautiful views, great breakfeast and a wonderful bartender. Our room was in desperate need of a new carpet, but was otherwise pleasant.

I really enjoyed my stay here — it was amazing and so peaceful. The breakfasts were wonderful, with a good variety every day. I especially loved their yogurt and baked goods. The free coffee was a huge plus — being able to pour yourself as much as you want each day is such a nice touch. The interior design is outstanding. The furniture is both beautiful and comfortable — it feels great to sit, look around, and even just touch everything, as the quality is top notch. There were only a couple of downsides. The pool wasn’t very clean, and the outdoor jacuzzi had an oily stain in the middle, so we didn’t use it. Other than that, everything was fantastic. Honestly, this was probably the best value-for-money stay I’ve ever had.

We absolutely loved our stay here, it surpassed expectations. We were staying as part of our honeymoon and they took such good care of us. The restaurant unexpectedly had to close the first night, but they went above and beyond to make arrangements for us. The surroundings, pool, and horseback riding were all brilliant.
