Longfellow Hotel

the lobby was pretty, and the room was quiet

The longfellow has a plaque that lists it as a "boutique luxury hotel" or something along those lines, but they really focus on form over function. Like for instance, the headboard is pretty, but the rooms are so small, and with a wall mounted tv and a bench at the end of the bed, if you're not sleeping on the side by the door, you are crashing into the bench, a chair, and a side table just trying to get to the bathroom. We ended up moving the bench, chair and side table along the tv wall, which drastically improved flow and gave us somewhere to put luggage - there is also not a SINGLE drawer anywhere in the room, and if you're trying to have 2 suitcases and do any unpacking, forget it. In addition, the sink is like 1950's low, and is also lacking storage. A steamer instead of an iron, no phone (so text this number for things) was not awesome. They didn't understand a daily room service order for coffee and we had to ask for cups and spoons, and the coffee never came in an actual coffee pot. Don't know how a "luxury hotel" doesn't understand room service coffee for 2, but there you have it. For the money, I would never stay there again.

Communal spaces were well appointed and staff for the most part were very helpful.

Room did not have Bay Views as advertised and had some questionable stains on the furniture.

The Longfellow Hotel provides a number of exceptional experiences because of a focus on the little things that matter. Example, morning coffee station with almond milk, oat milk, whole milk and 1/2 & 1/2 options. Super comfortable bed, excellent lobby bar, great food options, engaging staff, interior design among other amenities makes this a great place to stay. Not inexpensive but a reasonable value.

If you enjoy a boutique hotel w nice simple amenities & a warm staff & in a nice location this is your place. I walked to museums had the hotel limo drop me off for lunch my first day…the lobby bar was a relaxing end to my evenings & the spa was so accommodating & relaxe… can’t rave enough about the staff!

Highly recommend this hotel! We stayed one night to celebrate our anniversary. Our entire experience was perfect. Excellent housekeeping, courteous staff, great bar on site, very comfy bed. We had dinner right across the street at Wayside, which was so convenient. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Good location. The shuttle service to and from old town was very convenient.

Beautiful decor, but room was small and basic. Not very sound proof.

Nothing really wrong w the place but price/value not there. Price for a normal room was 499-699 for our three nights (includes Friday and Saturday). With all the tax and fees it topped out at about $850/night. Room was OK but ours was quite small and really did t fit the king sized bed. Almost impossible to walk around the bed on the far side. Bar downstairs was OK but lacks ambiance. They have a driver service but over three days could only use it once, and that was an epic fail.

I travel quite a bit and have for the last 30 yrs. I stayed in a king corner room that was spacious and had a very clean modern esthetic, that I found comfortable and relaxing. The lobby had a nice community vibe and loved the bar area. Be sure to check out Wayside Tavern directly across the street for really amazing food and drink. I’ll be coming back to both for sure!
