Longfellow Hotel

Great hotel, large rooms and easy check-in / check out, free on street parking close by. Great cafe next door and restaurant across the road. Lobby and bar is very nice

Rooms are almost a bit too modern and sterile, cheap furniture.

I stayed three nights at the Longfellow hotel and it was wonderful! The room was spacious, clean with a super comfy bed! The hotel staff is WONDERFUL! So kind, accommodating and just a great group of people! The vibe was a relaxed atmosphere with an emphasis on wellness. I dined at the 5 of Clubs the food was delicious and the drinks were fab!!! My favorite was the iced pumpkin pie cold brew from the Twinflower Cafe. Sooo good! I had a wonderful experience at this hotel, I would highly recommend and look forward to coming back in the future! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is not a very nice hotel. Looks better in the photos, has a lot of stains on the carpet, and just overall did not feel as upscale as it looks online. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the pricing. The room was advertised at $600 per night, but the receptionist offered me a $100 discount, so we agreed on $500. Just as I was about to hand over my credit card, she suddenly said the actual rate was $595. That “discount” turned out to be nonexistent, I guess a bait tactic to get me to agree to the price. It felt sleazy and like a money grab. Honestly, the stay just wasn’t worth over half a grand per night. 2 stars instead of 1, because they had a few cute design details, as well as a dog bed and bowl waiting in the room when we arrived. I appreciate the gesture.

Bed is comfortable, shower very nice. Lobby is beautiful. Bartender was friendly, valet was super helpful.

Did not serve breakfast the second day of our visit. The reclining sofa in the room is not comfortable.

Disappointing We stayed there for 2 nights. The pictures they publish vs reality are stunning. The architecture was clean, modern. The decor much less so. The restaurant really isn’t one, looks wide open but isnt; has twice as much furniture- cheap knockoffs of colonial classics enhanced with a lumpy sofa. The room (510) is a larger room stuffed with a king bed, lounger, coffee table and short stool. Stuffed full not the least gracious. The closet has a very small space to hang maybe 6 shirts. No drawer space in the room. We were on a multi- week trip so had 2 suitcases. No room to open them or access them since you can’t unpack. Bathroom has nice shower, Kohler white toilet (with a jarring black seat). Black small counter for a single bowl. Cramped. The staff was a mix of very nice warm folks wanting to make you feel at home and those that treat you as a bother. For a room that costs north of $400 per night the accommodations were disappointing. We stayed in finer hotels in Boston for the same price. Staff dressed in whatever they chose that morning and deport themselves accordingly. There is nothing about our stay that would encourage us to return. Nothing at all.

This is a great find! The hotel has a boutique feel with an excellent room. The staff was engaging and helpful. They have a brand new town car available as a complimentary service and made access to the waterfront, restaurants and shopping a breeze!

Bowen and the front desk staff are to be commended for their kindness, professionalism, and ideas of places to go, eat, and play. The bar team was equally friendly. I don’t write reviews. So this is special. Thank you Bowen for your personable interaction with us.

Lovely hotel with high standard of finishings and thoughtful touches throughout. Highlight was the complimentary town car - staff were all wonderful.

Study room was a bit cold and lacking character compared to the rest of the facilities.

Incredible small hotel with the best amenities! The hotel is just over a mile from some of downtown’s must hit spots. We took full advantage of the free cruiser bikes throughout the day and used their very nice commentary town car at night for dinner. Housekeeping came twice a day and hooked us up with clean towels midday and turned the room down at night. The bar in the lobby mixed some stellar cocktails and the gym was mostly outfitted with high end rogue equipment.

Accidentally booked an ADA room, which is slightly bigger but still on the small side. The bed/pillows are super comfortable. Husband had the best massage of his life. The balcony is a bonus, but it overlooks a parking lot.

Location is in a residential community called West End. Unable to find a decent restaurant within walking distance. As this was our first trip to Portland, I would have chosen something near the waterfront instead, which has tons of places to eat and shop. Valet parking at $45 seems expensive.
