Villa Porta Maestra

Excellent location, beautiful and roomy apartment - very modern. Quiet and comfortable and steps away from all the best locations in Hvar town. Stefani was very helpful with recommendations as well!

Nothing - everything was excellent

Location was the best. Easy to ferry, walk around the harbor, window shop in little galleries and all the rest. Staff was top notch. The design of the apartment was so gorgeous - mixing the local stone flavor with more modern touches. Beds were big and comfortable as were the bathrooms.

The appliances and AC were tough to figure out so just ask for the instructions on day 1.

The property is located on top of the city's 15th century main gate, with great cocktail bars and restaurants just down the stairway. The apartment was an eye candy, we appreciated the meticulous design. It is equipped with brand new (and high quality) appliances, tableware and everything you need to feel yourself at home and to prepare a delicious breakfast from the local market's produce (located just a short walk away). The receptionist/administrators were extremely helpful and nice, they also operate a cellar/wine shop stocked with great wine that we also appreciated. Hvar Hrad is a city of stairs and the entrance to this property is no exception; you'll have to conquer a couple of steep stairways on the way to the flats, take it in mind especially when equipped with heavy luggage.

During our stay we stayed in two apartments of Villa Porta Maestra (apartment 1+2). Both apartments are beautifully furnished! The apartments are perfectly equipped! The double beds as well as sofa beds are very comfortable. The apartments are located right in the center, the location could not have been better! Despite the central location, the rooms are well insulated. Especially apartment 2 is very quiet, and this apartment has a wonderful terrace with a view of the city center/sea. Apartment 1 does not have a terrace, but compensates for this with its spaciousness. The hostess and staff were super nice and are always available. Beach towels could be changed daily. Actually a luxury hotel in the form of apartments. We will definitely come back again!

The apartment is beautiful- decorated so tastefully, very clean, comfortable and so well equipped. It’s in an amazing location based in the heart of the old town. The host Stefani and all of the staff we so lovely and left a gorgeous tray of fresh fruit, chocolates and fresh coffee pods on our arrival, which was a really lovely touch 😁

The location was perfect. Every team member was knowledgeable, helpful and generous with their help and advice on how to have a fabulous time in Hvar. The communication was extraordinary and they went to great lengths to ensure our stay was personalised and wonderful.The Villa was beautifully presented, clean with modern amenities and furnishings with lovely views of the town and fort. You will be very happy staying at this gorgeous villa in gorgeous Hvar. I wish Stefani and her team were available for every booking we have made!

That I had to leave!

Wonderful! Brand new with luxury furniture, spacious and comfortable in the most prestigious location on the island. We felt like in the movie, as the villa itself is set on the archeological site, and it has a mini-museum with antiques. The wine cellar is fantastic, with the best Istrian wines from the famous Meneghetti winery. If you like the luxury Mediterranean style, this is The Place! We will be back for sure!
