Villa Porta Maestra

Amazing property for our group. We rented the entire villa in June 2024. Perfect location to shops, restaurants, bars, pharmacy, market, farmers market. All new modern decor with still keeping the old world historic charm of Croatia. Great AC and heated bathroom floors and heated towel rack. Full kitchen with pots and pans, stove, fridge, coffee maker, tea maker, microwave. They had free full breakfast every morning in the courtyard next door. It was so clean and every detail in the design and decor was beautiful. We used the pull out couch in two of the apartments and it was very comfortable. There is also a clothes washer in the top floor (2 bedroom apartment). Stefani, the manager was so helpful and nice and gave us fresh fruit, nuts and cookies in each apartment. There are stairs involved to reach the separate apartments so keep that in mind if stairs are hard for you and carrying luggage up all the stairs. Stefani did help us with carrying a lot of our luggage to each room. I highly recommend staying here for your Hvar town accommodations.

Our stay at Villa Porta Maestra exceeded our expectations! I was traveling with my husband and mother and it was more than enough room for the 3 of us (separate bathrooms a plus!). It is a 5 minute walk from the Ferry and from all the bars/restaurants. The property is gorgeous and very well maintained. You're surrounded by views of the church, water, fortress, and old town. We were welcomed with a variety of snacks and teas and Stefani, the manager, was incredibly helpful in planning our stay in Hvar - we cannot thank her enough.

This hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, central, and the very best staff. My daughter had some mal de mer from a rough ferry ride and the concierge Stefanie set up our room early and even brought her soup. WE stay a lot of places, and this one really went the extra mile. The wines are also delicious!

The property has been recently renovated and it shows. Beautiful combination of natural stone and wood. Kitchen was quite functional for a small kitchen and had a nice welcome tray of fresh fruit, nuts, etc upon our arrival. Private deck was very peaceful and perfect for a couple. No water views, but you can see old town. The bathroom was nicely done with a spacious walk-in shower. And one of my favorite surprises was a Dyson hair dryer!!! What?! I’ve never stayed somewhere with a Dyson and since I do not travel with a hair dryer and use what is provided at our rental units; this was delightful! Stefanie was also very helpful and informative. We appreciated all of her efforts, especially helping with my luggage when we arrived. Location is great; just a short walk from the ferry port. The breakfast included with stay is quite lovely.

The bed is a queen size; not king. The stairs are a bit steep which is probably fine for most people, but might be problematic for anyone with mobility issues.

Villa Porta Maestra was the best apartment we have ever rented. It was lovely. The sofa and chairs were beautiful and very comfortable as were the beds. We were very appreciative of the Nespresso coffee machine (our favorites at each of our homes). We didn't cook, but bought Croatian cheeses and meats for a few dinners. The views from the windows were breathtaking. No matter which window we looked from had a perfect view. Stefani went out of her way to help us get our bags up to the apartment and went with my husband to park the car, as the apartment was in a car free area. She also insisted that she help us with our bags on our return to the car. I would definitely recommend staying at Villa Porta Maestra. Hvar is a beautiful city and we really enjoyed our walks and very good restaurants.

Excellent location close to all, but in a very unique setting. Lovely views and vibe. The unit is perfect for 2 couples. We loved the interior and layout. All required amenities were provided and the host also set out fruit and biscuits. I would love to go back to Hvar and stay in this exact apartment again. Best shower in all my trips!
