The space and design of the apartment, everything in the facility which is required for a break.

Couldn’t open the windows, was very warm. The front door require adjustment, very tight.

Location was good, everything in walking distance.

We were so looking forward to staying here for the 4 nights that we had booked. On arrival the apartment complex overall was very untended and needs a lot of work doing to it. On entry to the building it smelt damp and not very clean at all. I had to wash my hands as soon as I got in the apartment each time as the doors and stairwell felt grubby to touch. On entering the apartment it looks nice, until we noticed that it hadn’t been cleaned, the bedroom side tables and the windowsills were dirty - we cleaned the main bedroom and had to hoover before we could put anything away ! The dining table had cup stain marks on it - I wasn’t prepared to clean this as we weren’t going to use it ! We had to clean the side tables in the lounge and also wipe all the kitchen surfaces and the cupboard doors, I even had to clean the kitchen sink and sink drainer, before I could use them. The glasses in the cupboard had to be washed before we could drink out of them. We are so glad that we took our own cups to drink a hot drink from. We had to hoover the lounge kitchen and bathroom also before we could take our shoes off. The shower was full of hair in a corner and had to clean the sink. We were very very disappointed in the cleanliness of the apartment as we had been charged £40 for a professional clean before we arrived. We were informed that the apartment had been cleaned and that this would be mentioned to said Cleaner !. I clean houses as my profession and to be charged and told it would be clean was so disappointing. We were advised that it was a self catering apartment, which we get and understood, but to have to clean up after the previous guest/s is not on. We can’t express how much we were looking forward to staying here but to be let down by the cleanliness is a Big No No, and it spoilt our trip. I have requested a refund from the owner for at least the £40 for the Professional Cleaning Service that we were charged for, but got no reply. Very unprofessional.

"A lovely little trip."

Excellent location. Cosy and comfortable apartment. Excellent price especially for goth weekend.

The scaffolding up around the balcony wasn’t ideal but there was a little note from the hosts apologising for the inconvenience. It didn’t put a dampener on the stay at all though.

"I would never book a holiday with Host and Stay."

Unfortunately, we had to rate the property low in order to write our own comment. We never actually stayed in the property due to the incompetence of Host and Stay.

The company ‘managing’ it. If this property is privately owned, I would seriously suggest that the owner use a different company to manage it. The attitude and incompetence of the staff I communicated with when trying to pay for the stay was very disappointing. We were left with no other option than to book another property with a different company 1/2 hour before setting off on our holiday, adding stress to our relaxing mini break.

"No heating no hot water, ruined our holidays."

Place itself was ok, although there was no wood for log burner.

On arrival I found out there was no heating and hot water. There was 6 degrees Celcius in the flat. The boiler was broken. Contacted the phone number provided and was told we have to wait for maintenance team. We had to wait 5 hrs before their maintenance team (one person) arrived and confirmed the boiler is failed and they have no spare parts so could not be repaired any time soon. We had 3yr old and 12yr old kids with us but nobody was bothered, no offer to bring electric heaters or at least wood for the burner, unbelievable lack of customer care. At 21:45 we left the property with the technician and headed back to Sheffield. Asked for refund, was told they had to investigate 10 working days, then email said refund will be within 10 working days... nothing happened, no explanation. Had to contacted credit card company to get refund which the property owners are now challenging. Don't think I have to carry on, you get the picture.
