The Rebello Hotel & Spa

The Rebello is a really elegant and relaxing place to stay to enjoy Porto. The view on the Douro river was amazing! The rooms are quiet, clean, modern, well equipped and spacious. The breakfast is amazing. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing moment Porto.

Rebello is a very fresh hotel that is situated right on the river and the rooms and the rooftop allow you to enjoy that view. It really is a 5 star hotel in a world class position. I will return!

My husband and I have traveled extensively throughout much of the world and where we stay is very important to us. We are always looking for that seeming unicorn - a small luxury hotel, beautifully situated, with historic bones but outfitted with all the modern amenities, attention to detail, high level of service, great food (including breakfast), a perfect place for a sundowner, preferably with a gorgeous view, not in the center of activity but not necessarily in the "middle of nowhere," and a reasonable price point given all of this. There have been a few places in our travels that meet this admittedly ridiculously high standard, and The Rebello is our new addition to this list. Yes, your room might not be ready when you arrive, if you come before check- in time. This is true anywhere, even if you are a VIP customer. This was true for us, but it just meant that we went up to the rooftop restaurant (our first of many visits here) for a delicious late lunch, with the most spectacular view and caring service. (We were served by Iracelma, who also was our breakfast server most of the 4 days we were in residence - she is a gem, with friendliness, helpfulness and a smile that will brighten anyone's day!) We also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant on our last night, for dinner. The food was great (and we are kind of picky) - fresh and tasty. We tried a variety of items and all were of high quality. Our room, a River View Studio, was absolutely perfect. We had a large balcony that offered the same view as the rooftop bar, so we were able to enjoy the scenery morning, afternoon, and night. Our bed was beyond comfortable. The A/C was great, but we actually left the sliding door open a few nights for fresh air, which we prefer if the temperature is right. (Be aware, though, on weekends, there is activity on the water and you might get some partiers having (loud) fun late into the night). Room was squeaky clean. Loved the freebies in the fridge, especially the complimentary bottle of wine (since we booked on Mr. and Mrs. Smith, we also received a second bottle of complimentary wine). The location deserves some discussion. It is across the river from Porto proper, but for anyone is reasonable physical shape, it is not a burdensome walk. A stroll along the waterfront (you will walk by all the famous port houses), across the lower level of the Dom Luis bridge, and you are in Porto! You can also take a funicular, or a taxi, but the walk is great, and good people-watching, too. The hotel booked our (complimentary) airport transfer - again, it all went according to plan, no wrinkles. The car picked us up on time, and we had a comfortable ride to the airport. There are only positives here. And we can't wait to return to our new favorite hotel in our new favorite city!!!

The best view of Porto!

If you're looking for a hotel in Porto, you can stop your search. This place is AMAZING! The staff are incredibly helpful and kind, the rooms are gorgeous, and the spa is a welcome retreat after a long day of hill walking. The fact that the hotel is right across the river from Porto was a plus for us - it's quieter and the view of Porto itself is spectacular. It's a 10-minute walk to Porto. Highly recommend this place. Can't wait to go back.

We love traveling and exploring new places - and staying at Rebello in Porto made our anniversary trip extra special. Honestly, it’s one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Since it was our wedding anniversary, I asked the hotel to prepare some balloons and a chocolate cake—my wife loved the surprise. On top of that, they upgraded us to a stunning riverfront room that was incredibly romantic. The rooms are spacious, the food is great (we especially loved the pizza), and the overall vibe of the hotel is just perfect. One thoughtful moment: as we were heading out for a long walk, the receptionist overheard us and handed us water and an umbrella—small gestures that left a big impression. To this day, one of our most memorable stays. Truly, an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful hotel on Duoro river with amazing views of Porto. Definitely will revisit.

This hotel is fabulous. The proximity to Porto is perfect with a the view of the water and the city. Quiet and relaxing, and you can take a cable car a quick walk away to the bridge to the city. We got a 2 bedroom suite with our 2 teenagers, the room was huge with a full kitchen. Complimentary snacks and beverages a treat, and make sure to include the breakfast in your stay - it's wonderful. Swam in the spa pool, had dinner on the rooftop - truly a highlight of the trip.

The room was nice but had to wait until 3:30 to get our room even though they knew we got here at 2pm. The WiFi didn’t work but they fixed quite quickly. The room had tiny windows with no view or outside space and felt like a dungeon. The room was also at the very end of the hotel and was a very long walk to get anywhere. There was only an indoor pool which was very small and you had to book it which was quite annoying. I blame myself for not doing enough research but I would never stay at a place again. Another annoying thing was trying to organise an airport transfer was very hard work. They kept sending me the same message. Breakfast was good and had a nice meal at the rooftop restaurant. The staff seemed nice and it is a nice hotel but whole experience ruined by the room.

We stayed at Rebello as a group of four, including two children, and overall had a wonderful experience. The team was incredibly helpful and responsive, promptly answering our inquiries and assisting with restaurant reservations. The rooms were impeccable—stylish, clean, and thoughtfully designed. There were only two issues we hope the hotel can improve. First, the kids’ pool hours are very limited: only from 7–10 AM and again from 2–5 PM, and reservations must be made in advance. Understandably, on holiday, it’s hard to make the early morning slot as we tend to sleep in. We were only informed about the booking requirement upon check-in, even though it was mentioned in a prior email that we unfortunately missed. Second, while the rooftop is undeniably stunning with breathtaking views, the food was disappointing. We ordered the mussels, which were truly inedible, and a tomato salad that felt uninspired. To their credit, the staff graciously removed the mussels from our bill, which we really appreciated. However, given that Rebello is part of the SLH collection, we expected a higher culinary standard. The rooftop menu is quite limited, and with such an incredible setting, we would have loved to dine there more often. We returned for drinks on another evening, but didn’t feel confident enough in the food to stay for dinner. In summary, it’s a beautifully run property with excellent service and style—just a few tweaks needed to make it exceptional.
