Venus Cruises Halong Bay by Venus Group

Great tour. Good activities (shame the karaoke stops at 10! Lots of solo travellers so great opportunity to meet people. The people I met made my trip!

Beautiful ship

We didn’t know certain activities were on certain days.

Eerlijk gezegd was dit een geweldige ervaring. De negatieve reviews hier maakten me eerst een beetje onzeker, maar ik besloot mijn eigen mening te vormen over deze cruise en het stelde absoluut niet teleur. Het eten was erg goed en het personeel aan boord was echt fantastisch - vriendelijk, attent en hield goed rekening met onze dieetwensen.

The location, the atmosphere, the service

We booked an expensive room but it was challenging to sleep at night because of the noise of a machine or generator next to the room. There was a bad smell of sewage in the room. Every time you enter there is an unbearable smell. The hotel staff even installed an electric odor-distributing device in the bathroom and shower. It didn't help much.

Scenery was amazing.

Breakfast could of been better and had to pay for water as the water supplied ran out.

Overall this was a great experience. Our children loved the experience, especially being able to kayak off the boat. The staff were exceptional in looking after our needs. The check-in process was busy but seamless. We used transfers with the company and this was excellent also. The food onboard was great but not always suitable for children. I wished I had organised some more child friendly meals - the dinner service was a set menu and not at all suitable for young children - we ended up wasting a lot of food. It was also a lot of food for adults to eat! The rooms were lovely and very large. The fridges in each room didn't work at all, so keep that in mind if you need a fridge. The cruise did have water stations that was helpful to save more plastic bottles. The cruise was a highlight for the kids over the holiday, so zero complaints.

Fridge not working. Happy hour doesn't include beer. We didn't think the water in the bay was healthy enough to swim in (not the fault of the cruise).
