We were not happy with the first room, too noisy pigeons, banging from next door, renovating next door business. Bedroom and bathroom b Very dated, poorly stocked. The staff at the hotel go above and beyond! They changed our room for the following night and we slept much better and room much more comfortable. The manager (Nicki) is exceptional, she was doing everything! Front desk, housekeeping, bar. Breakfast was not well stocked. No bacon, egg, hash browns left. Plates were wet, condiments limited. It felt a little all over the place.

Great break away. Lovely room, in a nice quiet area of Morecambe right on the sea front. Excellent food. Breakfast could have been better as sausages and hash browns were poor quality.

"A dreadful hotel. Substandard and overpriced."

2.0

This was undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We requested to change rooms, as the first one smelled horrible and when we ran water in the bathroom, it led to a very loud grinding noise. Apparently there were a couple of rooms available, one in the same price bracket and one that 'we wouldn't want to pay for' (we weren't given the option). The former was offered, but grudgingly, with no apology and an attitude that demonstrated a lack of concern or commitment to customer service. The second room was equally terrible; Overall it was worn out and grubby; the sink and toilet were cracked; the shower was so small I barely had enough room to turn round (I'm a size 12 woman); there was a grime build-up around the shower; the floor covering on the step leading to the shower was split and taped up (trip hazard); no shower mat provided; the ceiling light flickered on and off; no blind or curtains on one window; the mattress was old and I could feel the springs; the carpet was stained and worn; it was so basic, there was not even a hairdryer; the room was tiny and stiflingly hot; it had a very small TV, with no access to any streaming channels; the lift to room is antiquated and tiny; there was no food being served (arrived at 7:10pm). The charge for this basic and inadequate room, in a worn-out, shabby hotel, was £91. This is an audacious sum for the standard of accommodation, which was not fit for purpose. The photographs featured on this website (and others) are an inaccurate representation and bear no resemblance to the reality of the hotel or rooms offered. By the time we had arrived and changed rooms, it was too late to look for an alternative hotel. However, as we were leaving, we were asked if everything had been ok. I outlined what had been wrong with our stay, but was offered no way to escalate this complaint or any form of refund. Just a statement that the receptionist had expected a complaint, as she knew the room was small and hot. She further agreed that the hotel was old and tired. She stated she would pass my comments along (I have no way of checking this). I would strongly recommend that people DO NOT stay at this hotel, unless you enjoy being ripped off. Extremely poor all round.

The hotel was alright. Not the best but OK for the money. I'd say it was an OK stay.

If this was the last hotel available, we would never stay here again. We have written a full complaint but they do not want to know.

"Disappointing stay in a hotel that has seen better days."

4.0

A typical seaside hotel that has seen better days. Check-in onerous, despite paying in advance through hotels.com we were asked to pay on arrival. I was asked to show evidence of prepayment before receiving an apology. This sort of spoilt the whole experience from the start. The lift was a delight! Very small and with a gate that you needed to close to get the lift to move between floors! I have not seen anything like that in years! Room was advertised as a superior twin sea view. Arguably, there were twin beds and a view of the sea was available but I really would have difficulty describing the room as superior. If indeed this room was of a higher standard than other rooms in the hotel, I shudder to think what they looked like. The room was very small, there was evidence of leaking through the roof and the bathroom was very poor. The shower system seemed to work fine, but the hose was completely inadequate and could not be used to shower body effectively and the cubicle was tiny. It took several turns of the taps in the bathroom to gat any hot or cold water through. The wifi in the room was adequate and it should be pointed out that anyone wanting any bandwidth worth anything will be disappointed in Morecame. Like a number of hotels since the COVID-19 pandemic, the room was not serviced during our stay. A note to this effect was stuck on the bathroom mirror saying of we wanted towels replaced we had to contact reception and that due to "hotel policy" cleaning staff would not enter our room during our stay. Using the pandemic as an excuse not to employ decent housekeeping, or indeed any housekeeping is to be honest, getting a little tiresome but I can't blame the hotel for this, they've been allowed to get away with it since March 2020. All in all, a disappointing stay in Morecame.

"The most friendly hotel in Morecambe "

10.0

We had a very warm welcome on arrival. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly and it was great we could eat with our dog in the bar. The family room was very clean and good size. Not a great view of the fire escape but it didn’t matter for one night. In a great location in the seafront and easy to park outside on the road for free.
